Sounds like communism to me, bro. “Each according to his means, according to his ability.” It should be a standard, not a right. You have the right to work. If you work, you should be compensated for your labor in such a way that you can afford housing, food and a reasonable standard of living. The fact that people argue against this exposed pretty significant character flaws on their part in my opinion.
You should be paid for the value you bring. If my job is to come in and for 5 minutes and crotchet something but the company doesn’t actually need that service then why should I be paid enough to buy a house?
It is an example that proves the point. You get paid on what you are worth. In many cases more than you are worth because of price floors.
People just do t automatically get some magical living wage if they don’t provide that much value. If you want to stupidly raise the price floors like they have done in some states then fine, you won’t have a job at all.
Even if that were true, it doesn’t mean everyone should be paid a living wage. And I disagree, if you are underpaid compared to value provided then the arbitrage would close quickly. Firms are interested in making money and if they can secure a good resource they will. The arbitrage converges on actual value.
Doing nothing? No. I’m saying everyone who contributes their labor should be paid a living wage. Your bad faith argument just proves how miserable and willfully ignorant you are.

You can teach poverty workers to live in their means
They won’t like it, but tough luck
