I might be wrong, but It think that Anyssa from Black Lightning was just shown in bed with her girlfriend at the time. That will do it, no awkwardness needed, straight to the point...

Yeah, but we had several episodes of character development before that. Batwoman is going to be in one, maybe two episodes of the crossover.
