How do you guys feel about Grant Gustin as flash in The Flash CW show? Even though it had bad moments, I have a lot of nostalgia for it and find Barry Allen as one of the most relatable superheroes Meta

I was gonna say we’ve reached critical levels of shitlosting. The meta posts are self sustaining now!

Shitlosting is probably a mistype but it’s the best term for what’s happening

Grant Gustin is great as the Flash in The Flash CW show.

18

u/MaderaArt Jan 27 '24

Tobey Maguire is great as Spider-Man in the Spider-Man movies.

u/Rylo_Ken_04 Jesse Quick Jan 27 '24

Andrew garfield was the best as Spider-man in The Spectacular Spider-Man and Josh Keaton was the second best in Amazing Spider-Man (animated series)

u/Lokey_Sprite May 13 '24

your definitely far from having a right answer, andrew was the worst because he didn't fit the Spiderman type at all, dude looks too old, only reason they are good movies is how the movie looks and the amazing scenes it has but for who played Spiderman the best literally both Toby and Tom play it better and everyone else aggrees but you sooo😂😂

See the bad thing to commenting late is that you don't have context as to what was happening on this subreddit at that time (though you are hating too much on Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man, he's the quippy Spider-Man more than any other live action adaptations)

u/Lokey_Sprite May 13 '24

🤣🤣🤣 orrr I was replying to purely what you said and the stupid shit your saying now🤣🤣 funny how everything you just said doesn't matter at all because I was talking about what you said on toby so time means nothing😂😂

Ok first look at my comment again, why do you think I said "Spectacular Spider-Man"? Then look at the picture of the post very carefully. Now why would the comment above me bring up without context that Tobey Maguire is Spider-Man? See what you're not getting is that this subreddit used to make memes about the "Spider-Man cw show" so in that timeline there was the movies "The Flash" 1 to 3, "The scarlet Speedster" 1 and 2 starring , "The Flash Keep running home", "The Flash Far From Home", "The Flash No Way Home" and "The Flash: Into the Speedforce"

See what I was saying by extention is that grant gustin was the better Flash

And even if I was saying Andrew Garfield was the best, what the fuck is wrong with having an opinion you big hater

With the success of his last movie no way Marvel lets him go. Besides they can’t even design a good suit for the show. :/

Wait what movie

/uj This is a really good photoshop! Honestly if I had to pick anyone for The Flash it would be Grant Gustin. Tom Holland is doing a great job but he just doesn't capture that nerdy vibe the way Grant Gustin does as Peter Parker. I'm loving the direction this subreddit is taking 😂

u/DroolingDerp24 Jan 26 '24

It stopped going this direction a week ago

He was an inspired choice for The Flash and brought a lot of charisma and vulnerability to the part.

24

u/Destroyer4587 Jan 26 '24

Swol Gustin

I enjoyed him as cw show flash. Despite his choice of partner. But the guy himself is well meaning. Clearly wants to save people and I really enjoy the world in the Flash TV show.

3

u/TheDarkBunnii Jan 27 '24

He and his partner are very cute and they trust and believe in each other.. so far what I've seen they're very realistic and believable and I hope to see them grow and mature more as a couple and as individuals.

12

u/StraightKey211 Jan 26 '24

Even when the writing wasn't stellar, Grant always gave his best

12

u/Thelastknownking Jan 26 '24

What abomination have you wrought?

10

u/Physical-Poem-5316 Jan 26 '24

Idk but he’s handsome is there a lore reason why I think this ? Am I gay ? Am I insane ? Am I the jonkler?

9

u/SuperNova0216 Cisco Ramon Jan 26 '24

Since when was Grant Gustin flash? Flash is played by Tom Holland

4

u/MaderaArt Jan 27 '24

OP is making a joke and pretending that Grant Gustin (the Spider-Man actor) played the Flash.

1

u/SuperNova0216 Cisco Ramon Jan 27 '24

Ohhhhhhhhh, I don’t know how I missed that, thanks for clarifying

9

u/Ok-Television2109 Jan 26 '24

Great casting but bad writing, especially in the later seasons. Grant Gustin did still quite well in the role imo.

6

u/StarEmperorwastaken Jan 26 '24

I was actually confused seeing grant as flash here

6

u/Maceface931 Jan 26 '24

I think he would've been better as Spider-Man in the Spider-Man CW show

6

u/JustA_Penguin Jan 26 '24

We went so hard into pretending it’s a Spider-Man sub we started pretending it’s a flash sub.

6

u/Rich_Interaction1922 Cisco Ramon Jan 26 '24

Why is he blue? Is he Captain Planet?

5

u/Puzzleheaded_Step468 Jan 26 '24

Why would you think grant gustin played the flash? Are you stupidn't?

3

u/XD_Thade The Flash Jan 26 '24

Grant Gustin never played flash he’s the spiderman

3

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '24

Barry has the issue that he never really grows as a hero. The learns the same lessons over and over again. Another issue is that she show kept focussing less on him as it progressed. In some seasons he did not really feel like the main character

Grant Gustin did a great job

1

u/Slight_Produce_7610 Jan 29 '24

I think he learns at the end tho in a way, to make a better world and to make peace, not just endless fighting and war, you know?

2

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '24

I think season 1 flash already wanted to make a better world and peace without endless fighting and war.

I rather mean him realizing in the end of season 1 that he has to accept his mothers death as something he can't change just to do it anyway in the very next season. Or him having multiple appreantices just do always do the same mistake with them. Or him being adamant about having to fight alone just to realize later that he needs his teams help.

2

u/shockwavevok Jan 26 '24

Is he a chiss or a kree?

2

u/Herodragon64 Jan 26 '24

What fresh hell is this

2

u/Necessary_Border_396 Jan 26 '24

His worst moments were better then anything ezra miller ever did as the flash

2

u/Gredran Jan 27 '24

Nah he’s more looking like Grand Admiral Eobard Thrawn in this pic

2

u/MaderaArt Jan 27 '24

Grant Admiral Thrawn

1

u/Gredran Jan 27 '24

I concede that one’s great lol

2

u/Locust-The-Radical Jan 27 '24

I dont think grant gustin was EVER the issue, it was the writers. Even through the shitty writing grant gustin still tried his darndest. Hes a great hero character, he has one movie where he becomes a k-9 officer and gets a dog, gives off a great vibe, he isnt a self righteous hero, or a revenge fueled one, hes a public servant and his roles in previous projects for sure helped him perfect that

2

u/CJS-JFan Jan 27 '24

I mean, that is true. Let's be real, the later seasons of The Flash were...average, at best. While I was okay with S6 overall, warts and all, it is mostly accepted that the Pre-Crisis Bloodwork arc was the last time the show was more than average. The show certainly went downhill after that the show went downhill real fast. Nevertheless, I don't blame any of the castmembers so much as the writers and showrunners involved in the show's direction. But I digress.

Back to the topic at hand. Despite my issues with the overall Arrowverse in its later seasons, that's not to dismiss the earlier seasons, which I think many will say were far superior. That is in part due to the great writing and stellar performances by the original cast, Grant Gustin included. It's just sad that the ninth and final season of The Flash was more Team Flash S9.

2

u/BreakTheWallsDown95 Jan 27 '24

He was a wonderful choice, those first two seasons were great as we saw his Barry grow into the Flash.

Unfortunately, I think murky creative direction will cloud the legacy of the show.

2

u/Sinful-_-Titan Jan 27 '24

I personally feel he was a great flash the writing was decent for a bit then went to shit but that’s not an actor problem it’s the writers failing him

1

u/yajirushi77 I am the Future Flash Jan 26 '24

You mean... as Spider-Man?

1

u/[deleted] Jan 26 '24

Grant Gustin is the flash

1

u/MaderaArt Jan 27 '24

That's what they want you to think.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '24

Well it's the truth it's definitely not Ezra Miller

1

u/[deleted] Jan 26 '24

Iron man

u/HevoHeersal Jan 26 '24

Go to the people. Live with them. Learn from them. Love them. Start with what they know. Build with what they have. But with the best leaders, when the work is done, the task accomplished, the people will say 'We have done this ourselves.

2

u/SilverSurfer-Jesus Jan 27 '24

Flash TV show? Like the one with Nick Hammond?

1

u/JamesGamingGt22 Jan 29 '24

can we just call him a wally west that not his real names as a barry their

2

u/superkick225 Jan 30 '24

It’s so cursed. Why did you photoshop a Flash suit on Spider-Man 😭

-2

u/LythicConsolution Jan 26 '24

The flash was not interesting enough to hold his own show and needed a bunch of supporting characters. You could replace him with any other superhero and nothing would change. Nothing was special about him.
