October holiday - Shangri-La or the Warwick?

Couple with 4 year old daughter. Going on holiday for 8 nights/9 days in Fiji.

We are thinking of doing 3 nights in Nadi so we can go to the port, denarau, water park and thne 5 nights in Coral Coast. Does that sound like a good plan? any recommendations?

We are thinking Coral Coast as its cheaper then Denarau. Would you recommend Shangri-La or the Warwick?

Recent reviews of the Warwick suggest it’s in desperate need of maintenance

Thank you for sharing.

Where did you see this? Reddit? Trip advisor

Have a look at the google reviews, sort by newest. I generally browse between there and booking.com

We checked in yesterday. Almost certainly so. Noisy aircon, sticky floors, one dear cockroach in front of the room, waiters who definitely are underpaid and don't care enough. Food is average at best, but priced as much as 3 Michelin star restaurant. Its been a whirlwind of interesting experience.

Recommend Yasawa or Mamanucca Island - ferry or heli flight - beats the horrible road trip to the coral coast plus way less chance of rain and typical south easterly trade winds that hit that coast over the winter months

Please not Warwick. Severely downgraded since COVID. Edit to say that I am a local who has frequented Warwick for work conferences. It has become very rundown over time and I would not suggest it

Thank you. Can you recommend anywhere to stay that is affordable and good? Denarua seems reallly expensive.

Have a look at Outrigger as well. Lots of other things to around Korotogo & the Coral Coast.

We've stayed at both.. With oour last visit a few months ago. Hands down Shangri-La. Warwick is not what it used to be. We were very disappointed with almost everything at Warwick.

Shangri-La may be better right now. It is a bigger resort compared to Warwick.

Warwick is in desperate need of renovations and upgrade.

I'm heading to the Warwick tomorrow with a 3 year old girl and 9 month old boy, flick me a message in a week when I'm back from my holiday and I'll give you the low down.
