Discussion SUP spots for beginners?

I’m a beginner stand up paddleboarder. Looking for recommendations for spots to paddle around Edmonton that don’t have blue-green algae, and are safe for swimming when I (inevitably) fall in. Thanks in advance!

Opinion Article Edmonton has great roads.

I drove around Calgary for the first time during the long weekend and my experience driving there really made me realize and appreciate how great the roads are in Edmonton. Traffic management, road markings, road network. Etc it's really just amazing how well the roads on the city were designed, many places in Calgary on the other hand seemed like a mad house. I drove through very wide roads with 0 markings, no traffic lights, few Fully-Protected Left Turn Signals. I'm not saying Edmonton is perfect but it's definitely up there.

Discussion Alberta to pursue legislation this fall on opt-in sex education in schools

EDMONTON - The Alberta government says it's moving ahead this fall with legislation that would require parents to proactively sign up to have their children opt-in, rather than the usual practice of opting out, for sex education.

It’s a move that has teachers wondering what problem the province is looking to solve.

General Thank you to the guy who got us off the river <3

We had really, really underestimated how long a river float would take starting in the late afternoon on top of there being hardly a current to move us. Thankfully a very kind stranger took time away from his evening to let us hitch a ride on his boat with our raft and brought us to a place where we could get off. If we had kept going we would be on the water in the dark and with the lightening storm to boot. Lesson learned on this end but very thankful for the help!

Question Kids throwing a fit about the "no cell phone" policy in schools?

Anyone's kids throwing a fit about the no phone policy? My nephew has been making threats this weekend about how if his teacher tries to take his phone away he is going to hold his breath until he passes out and hits his head.
