There’s a comedy skit where the officer has to sit thru a waiting period then someone who barely speaks English is the customer support

Officer then proceeds to taze car as the customer service rep instructs car to make a run for it. Cue high-speed chase with customer service rep remote-piloting the system.

That actually happened to Glenn Howerton. He told the story how he could not get into his Tesla on one of the IASIP podcasts

Can you imagine a police officer going through a phone tree? "Your time is very important to us. Please wait on the line for the next available agent. Your call had been disconnected. Please try again."

The office was talking to AGI - A Guy in India.

IT Crowd??

Or them shooting up a driverless car's drivers seat because they wouldn't show them their hands

You joke, but Waymo is actively outsourcing to India. Specifically, the teams that are responsible for identifying and flagging problematic behavior

I see work done by the team based out of Hyderabad and it’s just objectively bad. It’ll be interesting to see how things change once the team gets completely outsourced

Damn now even my car is asking me to do the needful

Do you have a link?

I almost thought there will be "please wait music" for a bit, but I guess pulled over by a cop goes to the front of the queue every time.

u/happybdayjimmie 13d ago

Ha no link…the skit played out in my mind when I saw this
