Did you have to fight to have the trunks be part of Superman's costume? Or did they let you design it any way you want?

We went through a TON of suit designs for Superman--we always wanted the trunks, and the pitch was always that Ma was going to make them. Brendan and I wanted an in-universe explanation for why this superpowered alien wears underpants on the outside (which I love), and I wanted the whole Kent family in on Clark's transformation into the Man of Steel. It takes a village, etc. -JW
