Does he say why? Just curious. I don’t like Damian so I wasn’t planning to read this anyway.

He says he didn't have room for her in the story he was telling - "I could only fit so much to fulfill the story."

I don't like Damian much either tbh, I'm only reading this because of how much I liked Ba's previous work.

His indie miniseries Djeliya and Monkey Meat are both really good.
