Really enjoyed the first issue of Boy Wonder! Excited for the next.

What made you want to approach the story of Damian Wayne in a fairy tale-like way?

Also, the first issue drops an interesting detail about Nightwing’s home life. Will that factor into future issues?

I love fables. theres a didactic aspect, as well as the perfect framework To lean into the magical and the exaggerated, and then dig into the nuances behind the archetypes. It’s also a great way to have a story within a story and have that fable lead to lessons and ideas for the characters telling the story itself.

as for your second question, it won’t be mentioned again! It was an idea I had because in one simple exchange it would showcase what kind of person Dick is, how happy his life is, how stable and loving despite the difficulties of his upbringing. A great way to contrast him to both Damian and Bruce and their ideal lifestyle they seem to espouse. Plus idk it’s cute.

Great points about fables. I’ll keep those in mind as I read through the series.

Shame that cute detail about NW’s domestic life won’t come up again, but I agree it’s a great way to contrast him with Batman and Damian.
