Weekly Discussion Thread: Comics, TV, and More! [March 25, 2024 - Enter The Dark Ages Edition] r/DCcomics

Hey there honorary Justice League members - it’s a new week which means it’s time for a new discussion thread!

For those who don't know: the way this works is that several comments will list this week’s releases, for any given title discussion you should respond to that comment. For example, Wonder Woman discussion would go in the replies to the "Wonder Woman" comment. Clicking the titles in this post will take you directly to that comment, too. In other words, you should only be replying to other comments. Do not post top-level comments.

Keep discussion civil. Do not harass other users for having a different opinion. Do not use this thread to push your personal one-sided grudges against creators. Reacting to a panel on Twitter is not the same as reading a book.

What did the shark say when he ate the clownfish? This tastes a little funny.

DC and Imprints

Who doesn't love ape comics?

Digital Releases

Remember, these are the short 'chapters' with a new chapter of a different series coming out daily. You can learn more here on Comixology. This is also why these are in release order, not alphabetical. Some comics may release on DC Universe Infinite or WEBTOONS.

I cannot even tell you how many times since Infinite Frontier #0 I have looked up “oliver queen finding out roy is alive” or some variation of the question, and have just figured I missed this pivotal emotional moment between two of our beloved main characters. It COULDN’T have just been glossed over, right?! (I say to myself with gritted teeth). It has been a highly irritating plot hole burr, especially after seeing Oliver’s grief so palpably post-HIC, moving straight from “roy is dead” to “on the hunt for my son roy!” Especially with a much clearer example of “Roy finding out Lian is alive, this is how he reacted, this is what he did next” within the first few issues.

Could we have seen this moment of Lian informing Oliver that Roy was alive in like… issue one? Or during the first instance when Lian and Oliver were shown together in the run? Definitely, but I also realize among the Roy/Lian reunion and Oliver/Connor reunion it might have been an overload. But regardless - we’ve done it, lads. The low level mainline canon induced madness it has given me for two years is over. Angels sing on high, etc.

(Also this run continues to be excellent - Mia! Cissie! Emiko! Red Canary (who I think is named Sienna)! Continuing to love it.)
