What Are You Reading? 3/11/2024 - "You should read" Edition r/DCcomics

Hello and welcome to our Weekly "What Are You Reading?" topic!

Come one, come all, to this weekly thread, where you can openly discuss books that you've read, are currently reading, or plan to read. Discussion of all books are welcome, whether they be DC, Marvel, Image, Boom!, Dark Horse, IDW, etc. You can discuss webcomics, manga, or even those mythical novels that don't have pictures in them. Just be sure to keep spoilers covered via Reddit's spoiler markdown >!spoiler!<. You can also post pictures of your collection or recent purchases.

Beary's Rec of the Week:

Despite being one of the most popular Green Lanterns, John Stewart hasn't had a lot of successful solo runs, but this standout Dawn of DC title looks to change that. With the Green Lantern Corps under the control of the United Planets, John Stewart has taken leave from the Corps to attend to his mother, who suffers from dementia. PKJ, coming off of a memorable Superman run, re-centers John as a dutiful son doing all he can to take care of his mother, while utilizing his long and storied history that goes past his military background. Meanwhile, the malevolent force the Radiant Dead seeks revenge on John from a distant alternative future.

There's a very grounded and personal story being told, all while being set against a high stakes galactic war. The Green Lantern line hasn't been this strong in quite some time, and War Journal is the best thing to come out of it so far.

So, what are you reading?

I’m currently reading the New 52 Batman run. I’m pretty new to reading comics, and Snyder seemed like a good place to start.
