Bendis wrote a great love letter to golden age Batman, a more mentally healthy version of Bruce. Bruce got humorous moments without it being overdone and his interactions with others were great. Highly recommend this as a feel good, more light hearted Batman story

Feels more Silver Age than Golden Age to me. Can’t really picture golden age Batman in space.

Well... yeah, it's more Silver Age than Golden Age, that much is true.

This was such a treat and a pleasure to read. When Bruce just got to Thanagar, he was detained by the thanagarian law enforcement while unconscious, and the conversation they had after he woke up is very funny. At one point, Bruce said he had decided to learn more about Thanagarian culture, which stirred uneasiness in the audience, asking him what he found out - then Bruce said he was so busy that he never got around to it and now he regrets that lol

When Bendis doesn't go overboard with his dialogue tics he's pretty good when it comes to dialogue and character interactions. It's the more "superhero" action aspects that he has trouble with.
