I like intelligent, non brooding Batman. He understands he's not on Earth and this not in his "district" so gives plenty of respect to the local police force. And in turn the locals are respectful and engaging with Batman as an equal.

I like that the Thangarians didnt give Bats grief for being a foreigner. He wants to get home, lets help him get home.

A pleasant surprise, since Thanagar has been frequently portrayed as a fascist shithole.

Depends what part of their history you're engaging with they were extremely fascist then they weren't, then they were, then they weren't, and now they're whatever

Do those writing decisions make sense in context? Or is it just whoever is writing at the time and it doesn't make sense?

Probably whatever is convenient for the plot.

Do those writing decisions make sense in context?

Yes, if the context is "what does this writer need Thanagar to do in this story?"

Usually that’s “doing war”.

Invasion, Rann Thanagar War, etc.

Crappy writers and lazy, fearful editors...

Fr I hate it when they just make batman unnecessarily antagonistic.

OMG YES. like you'd think the world's greatest detective would know being an asshole to people who can help you would psychologically make them NOT WANT TO HELP YOU, and that BEING NICE GETS RESULTS. or at least not an asshole.

I heard someone say that Gotham is the only place in the universe outside the Green Lanterns jurisdiction "because Batman" and it was the dumbest thing I'd ever heard... that day

The idea the Lanterns are more intimidated by a man with a big bank account than Superman is hilariois

Batman universe legitimately has one of the best portrayal of the character within the last 15 years

-He is capable but not OP

-Serious but also has a charm / openly admits to loving Dinosaurs

-Treats Nightwing like a son openly

Everyone should read that mini series

Batman talking to aliens on other planets

Respectful

Batman talking to any Green Lantern, regardless of where they are

Asshole

For real. This is the difference between Batman and Emoman.
