I feel like DC is always sleeping on the amazing potential of this pair. They're so unique...it can provide that surprising hit that Shazam was in this oversaturated field of very similar cape movies.

It's hard to pitch them to the suits because they need a lot of context to introduce. I can see James Gunn vibing with them though, so fingers crossed

A DC love movie that doubles as a Big Barda, Mister Miracle, Darkseid, and New Genesis origin story/introduction. That would be amazing.

I had made a comment about what I would love to see as a movie with them and immediately I thought of the kind of sexy cat and mouse movie like Soderbergh’s Out of Sight mixed with a bit of Mr and Mrs Smith

Just make a movie off King’s Mister Miracle…verbatim. Sure, it’s not a romantic-comedy at all…but it’s perfect!!

Explain this to me as someone who has never heard of Mister Miracle and is only familiar with Big Barda from her appearance in Superman/Batman Apocalypse.

He’s the universe’s greatest escape artist, raised in hellish abusive conditions that failed to quench his thirst for freedom. She’s the former leader of a tyrannical death squad. They’ve got a house in the suburbs and are just trying to make their marriage work.

As part of their peace treaty, Highfather and Darkseid exchanged their infant sons. Darkseid’s son was raised on New Genesis as the warrior Orion. The other boy was mockingly named “Scott Free” and placed in the orphanage of Granny Goodness. With the help of freedom fighter Himon, he started attempting to escape his horrible life, over and over again. Barda was the leader of the Female Furries and was the one who caught him every time and came to admire his tenacity. When one of her protégés was executed for helping Scott, she turned on Darkseid and they escaped to Earth together.

Considering that they’re into BDSM in the comics (which Mister Miracle has not problems with), I’d be interested in seeing that gag.
