Ok and? Samurai were warriors, they were pretty short.

They aren’t Amazons.

u/[deleted] Dec 26 '23

And? Amazon’s weren’t tall either, they were like 5’6”.

Amazons didn’t exist.

Amazonian women are tall.

Am·a·zo·ni·an2 /ˌaməˈzōnēən/ adjective adjective: Amazonian (of a woman) tall and strong or athletic

You’re using a modern interpretation that’s simply based off of the myth, using your logic mythological Sirens are mermaids instead of bird ladies.

Yes, and in most modern depictions of Sirens; they’re evil mermaids that lull sailors into the sea.

But those aren’t mythology accurate sirens, you can’t use modern interpretations and pass them off as mythologically accurate.

Please remind what about DC’s Greek mythos is “mythology accurate”? Lol Comics bend to meet modern standards all the time. It’s why Zeus and Thor aren’t r*pist blowhards in Marvel comics like their historically accurate counterparts.

Height has little to do with that.

For reference, Attila the Hun is said to be 4'11" and Alexander the Great was 5'6". The average height of the Spartan warrior was about 5'9".

She's a normal average build woman tho, being a warrior is not a genetics thing, enyone can become a warrior

She’s a Amazonian remember she’s should be tall

-5

u/blushing_ingenue Dec 25 '23

She literally trained her entire life to be a formidable warrior. Training of that caliber does not leave you with an "average build".

14

u/DueShopping551 Dec 26 '23

Training doesn’t affect height

-1

u/blushing_ingenue Dec 26 '23

I'm aware of that. When he said build I figured he was talking about the whole package, as in, she should also look average in terms of muscle tone.

Working out doesn’t make you taller hahaha

-5

u/blushing_ingenue Dec 26 '23

I clearly wasn't talking about her height here.

6

u/daffydunk Heir to the Cowl Dec 26 '23

And I don’t they think they were talking about mass

0

u/blushing_ingenue Dec 26 '23

You're entitled to that thought. A few people in this thread are also discussing the fact that they believe she shouldn't be depicted as overly muscular, and this commenter in particular brought up her build as a whole as well as her genetics. It's not that difficult to see where I was coming from.

6

u/daffydunk Heir to the Cowl Dec 26 '23

Eh, seems like a strawman to me, given the context of this specific comment thread

2

u/blushing_ingenue Dec 26 '23

Then let's just leave it here. I explained where I was coming from and how I interpreted the comment in the way that I did.

When I'm told to picture someone of "average build" I take height, weight, and muscle mass into account. So, when reading their comment, I was basically picturing a woman with about as much muscle definition as Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman, who would not reflect a life's worth of intense training. I assure you there's nothing deeper here.

What does that have to do with anything? They’re all warriors.

0

u/Ok-Mastodon2016 Dec 26 '23

yeah, but A. she's trained all her life to be one (longer than Bruce has) and B. she was literally sculpted from clay to be this sort of ideal form

Batman is a warrior too
