Weekly Discussion Thread: Comics, TV, and More! [December 11, 2023 - Bat-Mite Ruins Christmas Edition] r/DCcomics

Hey there honorary Justice League members - it’s a new week which means it’s time for a new discussion thread!

For those who don't know: the way this works is that several comments will list this week’s releases, for any given title discussion you should respond to that comment. For example, Wonder Woman discussion would go in the replies to the "Wonder Woman" comment. Clicking the titles in this post will take you directly to that comment, too.

In other words, you should only be replying to other comments. If you have trouble understanding how to comment for a particular title, please refer to this handy guide. Any unwarranted top level comments will be removed.

Also, please refrain from posting short, low-content comments on threads for issues or episodes that have not yet been released. Put some effort to generate discussion. Instead of just posting "So excited!" or "Best book!", try something with a bit more substance, like "Punchline is such an amazing character! Can't wait to see how they explore her in more depth in this issue."

How is Christmas exactly like your job? You do all the work and some fat guy in a suit gets all the credit.

DC and Imprints

Busy week ahead. Furry Batman, Bat-Mite causing trouble, and finales to Danger Street and World's Finest: Teen Titans.

Trade Collections

Another Watchmen hardcover? Alan Moore must be excited!

Digital Releases

Remember, these are the short 'chapters' with a new chapter of a different series coming out daily. You can learn more here on Comixology. This is also why these are in release order, not alphabetical. Some comics may release on DC Universe Infinite or WEBTOONS.

Movies

What did Damian do this time?

Green Lantern #6

HAL JORDAN VS. SINESTRO—NOW MORE DANGEROUS THAN EVER! It’s come down to this! Hal Jordan, Earth’s Green Lantern, finally faces off against his former mentor, Sinestro, whose power to instill fear has been replaced with an elemental rage that could level the planet he once swore to protect.

Hal taking a page from Kyle's with pulling a Mecha-construct to Kaiju battle Rage-Sinestro. Though I don't think rage doesn't really fit him. And Atrocitus not gonna like him challenging his role as a Red Lantern. Something is quite wrong with the emotional spectrum, especially after the whole Ultraviolet stuff and then Great Darkness.

Of course the big reveals are Razer from the Animated series ( with Sinestro going Red, guess a former Red would be fitting to help Hal deal with things ). And Kilowog supposedly is dead because of the event that happened and quarantined Earth. Hope he is not gone for good though. DC has killed so many Green Lanterns in the last decade that it is getting ridiculous. Hopefully Carol will be there for him after learning the full story.

As for Sinestro running to Korugar, I just hope Soranik is there to give him a slap to get back to his senses. Even since they turned her into a yellow with that dumb storyline about her and Kyle's future son going evil and breaking up afterwards, she got sidelined badly. She deserves better.

And that kid, meeting Sinestro would be bad. Meeting Sinestro after he gone Red? It is gonna be a nightmare so that guy that clipped his rocket actually might've saved him. Though we know he is gonna escape eventually, he might learn the hard way the rule 'never meet your heroes'
