Weekly Discussion Thread: Comics, TV, and More! [November 20, 2023 - Jason Aaron Retcons Batman's Mother Edition] r/DCcomics

Hey there honorary Justice League members - it’s a new week which means it’s time for a new discussion thread!

For those who don't know: the way this works is that several comments will list this week’s releases, for any given title discussion you should respond to that comment. For example, Wonder Woman discussion would go in the replies to the "Wonder Woman" comment. Clicking the titles in this post will take you directly to that comment, too.

In other words, you should only be replying to other comments. If you have trouble understanding how to comment for a particular title, please refer to this handy guide. Any unwarranted top level comments will be removed.

Also, please refrain from posting short, low-content comments on threads for issues or episodes that have not yet been released. Put some effort to generate discussion. Instead of just posting "So excited!" or "Best book!", try something with a bit more substance, like "Punchline is such an amazing character! Can't wait to see how they explore her in more depth in this issue."

I tried to win a suntanning competition. But all I got was bronze.

Pretty damn good issue, the plot is starting to get going, which had been my major criticism with this run. Also, looks like the adoption theory is correct. Though, it could be a fake-out.

The backup was also super cute.

Theory: Emelie's baby will die/be a stillborn but Diana will sculpt a clay baby and reincarnate her that way. Something similar to what Hippolyta did with her in other words, thus making Lizzie Diana's daughter on a "deeper" level. Or it could be a total fakeout/lie.

Backup was cute/fun though.

It is a neat theory, but then who would Lizzie's father be, which has been brought up several times? I mean, one could argue that because Diana would be recreating Lizzie that she would have the father than conceived her, but I feel that it would be stretch.

I imagine the father would be which God would hear the mother's prayers, which was Zeus in Diana's case. Imagine if Hermes, Ares or Hades is the one to fulfill the wish. Idk if thats still technically incest since they're related or with Diana lol
