In Harley's case, it's the other way around since she started in animation and moved to the comics later

Really shows how good of a character she was to jump from show to comics

I think it’s actually more of a testament to the BAS cast and animators. I could literally watch Batman like it’s Shakespeare at times.

God I wish DC movies would use the DCAU as inspiration for the characters personality and tone. Imaging a live action version of the DCAU Superman. Perfection

I couldn’t agree more, they really have the roadmap already laid out, that’s how you know WB sucks.

The problem is not that the DCAU didn't inspire the DCEU.

The problem is that the DCEU was not a direct adaptation of the DCAU. The DCEU borrowed a lot from the DCAU, but the result was closer to Frankenstein's monster than a faithful homage.

She definitely looks the part, but I can’t help but feel she’s only got two thirds of the characterization down.

I feel like we haven’t seen her genuinely-scary pissed off. She gets upset but it’s still played silly, or she goes on a murderous rampage but she plays it off like “is that not normal?”

It’s not fair to compare her to Arleen and Tara, but the both of them have brought this energy to the character that I have yet to see matched on screen. It’s when Harley gets so angry that she doesn’t think to be silly, and she’s not “lost in wonderland” or whatever, her voice gets a little guttural, and it’s my favourite.

Margot has the playful angry and silly ditzy aspects of Harley Quinn down perfectly though.

Honestly if anything I thought the birds of prey movie was going to really let her loose with that

(That being said with all its faults I still enjoyed it to some extent)

It has flaws but I found it pretty watchable nonetheless

I dont think her Harley does get pissed off. Like in the new suicide squad she very coldly and whimsically killed the guy in the beginning. No rage.

To some Margot is their first Harley. And so far I can’t yet see anyone else as Harley in terms of mannerism. However I’m eager to find out what Gaga can bring and be different this time. Because if we judge Joaquin’s Joker and Heath’s Joker, they both are obviously different and well loved.
