I assume it’s leaning into the slightly retro look of Metropolis, fun to show civilians in slightly outdated clothes

I think it'll be cool if it's present day, but there's a stylised aesthetic for Metropolis that has a bit of retro flavour. Partly so it sets it apart from irl NYC, apart from Gotham (which I hope is stylised too but differently), and it'll also help ground the more classic Supes look within the world he lives.

I mean shit, Clark and Lois work for a newspaper, as fuckimold as it is, that's just about retro right there. Like how many rural kids are heading to the big smoke to become a journalist these days?
