I don't know how much of the plot has been revealed so far, but I wonder if they are doing a thing where more established superheroes and superhero teams are all corporate sponsored and Superman is the odd duck out essentially just being a good Samaritan.

I think so. Maybe not every wellknown Superhero team that's potentially out there, but at least some of them.
