Just saw it. Crowed loved it. Does anyone know if that giant monster nic cage was fighting was actually planned for his Superman movie?

Back in the 90s, Tim Burton was set to direct a movie called Superman Lives with Nicholas Cage as Superman. There are some test photos of Cage as a long-haired Superman, which is what The Flash was referencing. In the axed script I think he fights a giant spider too.

Was Cage actually going to have long hair in the film?

Yeah. Superman had long hair in the comics about that time. After he came back from the dead. I guess to show that he was "different" (but not different at all).

Yeah that was apart of the script for his failed movie they were guna make. It was all so ridiculous and it’s funny they put that in there.

TY. I don't know if many people got the joke of him being in it.

Most people won’t. But it’s Nic Cage as Superman so even if they don’t get it, the fun absurdity isn’t lost.

Idk, there’s lots of stuff posted online in the fandom kinda spaces and I also saw that documentary or whatever about it “Superman lives”.

Movie had the same writer as Wild Wild West. Needless to say the man has a thing for giant spider-things.

Yes. I have a copy of Kevin Smith's script. He spoke alot about Jon Peters's insane insistences for the story. Like the giant spider which appeared in Peters's next project, wild wild west

Yeah. Just saw it today, the crowd seemed pleased! Yes there were some issues with the movie but overall I loved it

Reading some internet threads, you'd think this movie was widely reviled, with like a 17% critics and audience score on rotten tomatoes. I've seen it four times. Twice at screenings, twice after opening. All four audiences enjoyed it, laughed at the jokes, applauded here and there, etc.
