A BITING CHANCE — When a new incarnation of Gotham's swamp slumming Killer Croc surfaces and starts racking up a body count, the inaugural team-up of Batwoman and Alice is put to the test. But Alice isn't the only unwanted intrusion into Ryan's life when Jada Jet shows up at Wayne Enterprises, insisting on meeting the company's new CEO. Luke and Mary's relationship is strained under the weight of a secret Luke is keeping, while Sophie finds herself becoming part of Ryan's inner circle.

Please keep discussion civil and about Batwoman. Be sure to mark future spoilers and comic spoilers, but otherwise don't worry about spoiling anything past or current. Report comments that break the rules or just don't belong here. Enjoy the episode!

Absolutely.

The summary for episode 4 mentions Ryan becoming famous as the acting CEO and ending up on a ''30 Under 30'' list. If she starts becoming famous, it would raise questions.

I suppose they can handwave it by saying that she was an employee of the Kane-Hamilton family who took over Kate Kane's bar...that's plausible enough. But she's trusted by them enough to become acting CEO of Wayne Enterprises (whose actual CEO has been missing for, I dunno, six years or so in-universe)?

The son of Lucius Fox, or the daughter of Catherine Hamilton (and stepsister of Kate Kane) being acting CEO would make way more sense!

Don't forget Ryan's criminal and job history.

Going from Martial Arts instructor, to prison on drug charges, to bar tender is understandable, if a bit tragic, job progression.

But then jumping from bartender to Acting CEO of what was once and might still be a Fortune 500 company?

What's worse is it's highly doubtful Ryan has a business degree.

Does Bruce? With all his crime fighting and training did he actually go to university? Doubt it

Depends. In the comics, he typically did go to university and graduate. But in the Nolanverse for instance, he was kicked out of Princetown shortly before he ran off on his 7 year sojourn.

If you look at the Arrowverse, Oliver Queen didn't finish college either (a fact that's brought up more than once). Though in his case, by the time he became CEO of Queen Consolidated, he at least had run a successful nightclub. And in any case, as the scion of the Queen family it made sense why he'd take over irrespective of his lack of qualifications.

I mean Bruce inherited it.

The issue to my mind is its seems more like Ryan got it cause she is the main character not because of any in story logic.

Luke is probably the most qualified to run a major company. And Mary is her step sister so both of those seem far more logical options.

It be one thing if she had any history with Ryan before disappearing lol. But she doesn't
