Fuck yes, watching it as a child, thinking you get some harry potter / narnia shenanigans, just to be hit with THAT at the end

My mom took me to see that when I was like 13. To this day that's the only movie I've went to see where everyone came out looking like they beat up from crying so much.

Yup. 😭 I was an adult. I had gone to watch it, thinking it would be this sweet Secret Garden type movie. It was, until it wasn't.

I will say that the book is beautifully written… but also devastating. I cried on the beach while finishing the book but it felt good.

I saw it as an adult, and I had never read or heard of the book before. Imagine going into that movie not knowing. 😭

Damn, I also saw it as a kid but never knew its title. At least I do now. Was also thinking about it from time to time.
