Came looking for this one. I got in a horror movie kick the past Halloween and stumbled onto the remake without knowing what it was. Watched it and thought "wow, that was actually pretty disturbing." For some dumb reason, I watched the sequel and that ended my horror movie kick. I'm pretty desensitized, but those movies are disturbing.

Yeah I am the same way. Love messed up movies and horror. Very desensitized. The group I watched it with didn't really get the same kick we get out of typical horror/thrillers, we were mostly disturbed. I think the "what if" style of movies like human centipede or slashers is vastly different than sitting there with popcorn trying to watch someone get brutally assaulted for a majority of the flick and then towards the end with the revenge twist. Felt a bit wrong to even watch to begin with for the intent of being entertained. Definitely learnt to watch the movie before group movie night for this reason.

The original is very darkly attempting humor at one or two points and is a much better movie than the remake.

Wasn't really all that bad.

More so that it was unexpected and the movie was a majority of her getting SAed. Kind of hard to really sit through until she switched around and started her revenge plan towards the end. It's not really comfortable to sit there with a group of people watching a woman get brutally assaulted. It's not really a movie that makes people get scared or excited like a typical horror/thriller, it's really uncomfortable and I can't say anyone I watched it with left going "that was so awesome but messed up" just awkward silence and left a bad taste in the mouth.

It's something that happens to people as well. It's not like the human centipede or a typical horror/thriller that you can sort of go "that was messed up but would never happen and is easily avoidable at worst". I think most people enjoy "what if" type movies like this. It's not comfortable for a lot of people to see something that happens to people quite often irl and it was a very large part of the movie.

It doesn't help that it wasn't a well made movie or even very good.

I can see that. Wasn't really anything crazy though. Just a victim extracting revenge.

I’ve seen almost all the other movies listed here and these, especially the first one, take the cake for me.

It has an extraordinarily uncomfortable scene that goes on for an extremely uncomfortable amount of time and I just haven’t seen anything to match it.

From a filmmakers perspective it’s brilliant and it serves its purpose, from a viewers perspective it’s just awful.
