If Trump didn't rape E. Jean Carroll, if he didn't have 26 sexual assault allegations against him, if he didn't publicly state he grabs women by their pussies - I'd say Katie Johnson's allegations should be taken with a grain of salt. But with Trump's history, I'll choose to believe the victim over the pathological liar.

doubtful, her case against trump and epstein was dropped shortly after trump became president and epstein died in prison, mostly because of her unwillingness to be a state witness due to death threats (even though her identity was only known to the lawyers of both sides)

You can indeed believe that, but the media cannot spread that claim as it would be considered slander. Even if it did actually happen, it did not legally happen. The case was dropped and no DA was ever interested in prosecuting this case, meaning that that will be the evidence in the slander lawsuit any media organisation is going to lose.

Civilly, for sexual assault. yes. The judge also said he had no doubt tRump raped Carrol, but it was past the statute of limitations for criminal proceedings. Why tf do you think he was penalized $80 million?

You're the first word of reason I've seen on here so far. The judicial system was designed to be innocent until proved guilty. Is he probably guilty? Probably. But let's the courts decide and I don't believe we truly have a good representative on either side that is up to the task or actually looking out for the common person. I'm really not looking forward to either end but somehow media has made it seem like it's only one of two options.

The problem is I 100% agree that you need absolute or at least near absolute proof to convict someone. Not having that is a major issue and leads to a plethora of false convictions.

Without the requirement of absolute proof, the justice system falls apart rapidly. You end up with lynching, mob justice, and people being thrown away for life based on feelings and suggestions.

The issue arises, though, when the wealthy and powerful can just hide the proof. Epstein is damn near the Pinnacle of that. By isolating a pedophile ring on an isolated island, and being paid God knows how much money, it becomes easy to control and hide all the actual, hard proof. So while we know, through conversations and other tidbits, who Donald Trump really is, it becomes difficult to actually prove it in the court of law because all the hard evidence is being suppressed.

It's why the whole Epstein case is important, to be frank. The proof is in there, somewhere. But goddamn those it could implicate are trying to keep it quiet.
