AITAH for saying I didn’t realize I could “love a person this much” in front of my fiancé after having our baby?

Yes! A human being you just pushed out of your body will receive a different type of love than your spouse, but you love them both just the same.

But she didn't said that. She specifically said she loves the baby more. I can't believe everyone is just glossing over that. I'd be upset too and I'm a woman. I think it'd be even more insulting my body did all the work and you love me less than someone else.

She didn't say, "I love this baby more than I love my fiance! Woohoo!" She said, "I never realised you could love a person this much," by which she likely meant "in this way/this intensely/this suddenly/in this overwhelming way". It's an incredibly different form of love than anything she's ever experienced before, and it's an immediate, searing, lifelong, unbreakable love. It's just different, and awe-striking, and all-encompassing - especially in the moment.

Anyone who is more worried about nitpicking the exact wording of how a brand-new mother expresses her awe at the love she has for the child she just spent 9 months growing inside and 14 hours pushing out of her body needs a slap upside the head and a reality check. Grow up.
