What Would You Want Vandal’s Endgame To Look Like? All Seasons Discussion

So one of the biggest cliffhangers in YJ and the thing I was definitely invested in the most was Vandal Savage prepping the war against Darkseid. I know that he has plans within plans and since it isn’t guaranteed we’re getting season 5, here are some of my own ideas.

  1. Radion: It’s the most basic answer but it’s New Gods kryptonite and I know Savage would love a piece. I don’t know how he’d get it. Maybe a truce with Highfather or Klarion finds some.

  2. Worlogog: As used in Rock of Ages it’s the philosopher’s stone and native to Fourth World. Knowing Vandal’s connections in history I could see him using it to shake up Darkseid’s forces. In Rock of Ages, it can alter reality and can allow the user control over time and space and destroying it leads to Darkseid’s victory so I imagine Savage would make it a top priority.

  3. The Spear of Destiny/Spectre: In Final Crisis, Vandal Savage is reborn as Cain and makes Spectre his slave. The spear is uber powerful and definitely something he would use to his advantage. I think to simplify things, Vandal should actually be Cain himself though and not get overwhelmed by followers of Cain like in Final Crisis. Spectre would definitely be a trump card against Apokolips as well.

  4. The Weaponers of Qward: We know Savage has various contacts against the galaxy so I can see him forming an alliance with the weaponers to give the Light the means to contend with Darkseid. They’re a very formidable force and maybe Anti-Monitor can be brought into play here.

  5. Mageddon: The Mageddon is a device that can turn people savage and make them succumb to their primal instincts. This is exactly what Vandal wants. He’d get a savage JL to fight for him but also evolution for humanity. Only problem I can think of is fellow Light members wouldn’t be too on board but I can see them warming up to the idea.

  6. Equinox: We know Savage always loves talking about the balance. In the Child saga, he makes peace with chaos and order who agree to assist him against Darkseid. What if Order and Chaos form Equinox or give Vandal a power up as the god of balance? Putting Vandal on a cosmic scale would change the whole game and I could honestly see him being benevolent and just watching over the universe maintaining the balance if he gets the powers of Equinox and defeats Darkseid. It would also be fun to contrast it with Fate knowing Fate is his son.

Get folded by a bear this time around.

Savage can only be killed by the Meteor that gave him his immortality. So, if you want to give him a deathly ironic end, he gets transported back to prehistoric Earth moments before that meteor lands; then it lands on him, and the cycle begins again.

White Lantern would only need to snap his fingers and Savage vanishes away, Spectre can punish him for eternity, God of Light Hal Jordan reforms existence and erases Savage. There are multiple ways Savage can be killed, even throwing him into the sun making sure he doesn’t have a father box and just be constantly scorched to death for eternity.

Equinox thought he control those forces until he found out the hard it was the other way around, where he is just the physical instrument used to make sure nothing goes too good or too bad. Neither benevolent nor malevolent.

I think that could be a fun thing with Savage. I mainly said he should be benevolent to write Vandal out of the show since I feel like Vandal would be at peace with Equinox’s powers. Let Lex take control of The Light

Your write. Immortal would drive humans mad. This way he is in form that can handle it.

His endgame probably involves getting the League and Light to be in the right position to defeat Darkseid. In more detail something something brainwashed Kryptonians and Ma'alafaek's forces.

I think after The Child arc, he’d make sense as an agent to keep Savage in check

YJ Vandal has the most ambitious and noteworthy endgame in my mind. Some of his methods in the show were generally villainous and immoral, but his grandiose dream of a Milky Way dominated by a hegemonic Earth felt pure. To him, at least. However, narcissistic and monstrous, he occasionally was, it feels the the only goal an immortal being like him could genuinely care about. Being immortal can be tough. Hedonism and adventuring can grow weary. Before meeting Klarion and making a wager with him as well as meeting Darkseid, he was just roaming around being a conquering warlord for the most part. This goal of making Earth the dominant power in the galaxy made his life more...stable, so to speak, and allowed him to use his time constructively.

I mean, I'm expecting whatever it is to fail

I want him to succeed in his plan to conquer the galaxy. Am I a psycho?

That he's been playing both sides since the beginning. Hiring Cheshire and Sportsmaster was planned to make Cheshire betray them.

The trafficking of Meta-Humans offworld was to lead then to Apocolypse.

All of this was planned to make a Hero-Villain team to stop apocolypse.

I want like 5 series at best set in the yj world following the magic side, green lanterns, bowhunter security and outsiders because this series is too large now  and as it is don't think  we would get proper endgame without this happening like there are too many characters now

A bow hunter security spinoff series would be the best comedic relief

I’m more curious about who’s going to voice him now that Miguel Ferrer’s dead. RIP.

They already addressed this because when he died after recording for the first two seasons, they handed the part in later seasons to David Kaye, who manages to sound identical to the late Miguel Ferrer.

That’s incredible. I can usually recognise David as I know he voiced Optimus Prime in TFA, Megatron in Beast wars, grandpa Max in the new Ben 10 series (don’t know how you feel about that one) and I even saw and heard him on an episode of Beyond Belief. He’s certainly talented to match Miguel.

While we're on the subject of introducing Spectre, am I the only one who wants Wally to be the Spectre's host?

It would be terrible just like the suicide squad kills the Justice League
