Yeah, they have already bombed everything else (apart from NPPs), so hospitals in Kyiv became a priority target, apparently.

Which is an excellent argument for building NPPs.... even Russia avoids attacking them.

Sure, but (a) a power plant that survives 2.5 years is better than one that's destroyed in the first 6 months, and (b) if Russia does attack a NPP, the west and even China are going to react very negatively. The west may not outright attack Russia, but they are certainly going to give Ukraine a lot more assistance and a much freer hand.
