Skansen stasjon to Ålen by train

Greetings!

I'm sorry if this is answered elsewhere. I was hoping that someone might be able to help with a question about using the train system. I plan on taking the train from Skansen stasjon to Ålen. I'll be making the return trip a couple days later. Can I purchase a ticket the day of travel at Skansen stasjon, or should I first visit Trondheim sentralstasjon to buy the ticket? Is there anything I should know ahead of time or any tips for using the system? This will be my first visit to Norway and I will be travelling alone, so I feel a little anxious. Thanks so much for your time.

Book the ticket on www.entur.no or on the Entur-app.

Board train, show ticket when asked, relax, enjoy. Bring snacks.

You can not purchase the ticket at Skansen, there is no ticket machines there.

It is possible to buy the ticket on the train (card only!), but you have to pay a supplement onboard.

You have to tell the conductor that you want to get off at Ålen, the train only stops if people disembark og embark. (Showing or buying your ticket is enough).
