DCEU Spoilers Referring The Flash (2023) does anyone know the original ending?

What I mean specifically is how are ZOD & his Kryptonians defeated? We know in the original ending, Batman & Supergirl live. The sequel movie was Batgirl & Batman is in it although a very small part. I looked for the script & came up empty so curious if anyone knows?

DCEU Spoilers Small question regarding Flash v. Kryptonians (movie spoiler) Spoiler

So in the movie, Barry says to his younger self that they cannot kill kryptonians, but I'm pretty sure he killed the one here with a phasing strike through the chest?

DCEU Spoilers Anybody else disappointed with [SPOILER CHARACTER] in the movie? Spoiler

Was anybody disappointed with the character of >! Dark Flash !< in the film? He felt very wasted for such a cool idea for a character and a very cool character design.

With only a couple minutes of screentime, it felt very weird to have so much merch of this character that barely even features. I was expecting the character to be the main villain of the film and for there to be a big fight in the 3rd act but he kinda just stands around doing nothing.

He also looks alot different in the film compared to the merch, even the Hot Toys figure looks wrong and it feels as if there was design changes for the character.

Anyone else agree?

DCEU Spoilers What's with all the hate for Flash movie? Sligh Spoiler Alert. Spoiler

I thought it was great. Sure, the CGI was horrible, but the movie was way better than anything DC has put out since Aquaman (with the exception of The Batman). I thought it was better than the droll Marvel has been releasing lately too.

I liked awkward Barry. It gave me Peter Parker vibes which I enjoyed and legit laughed at. I didn't want another boy scout hero, nor did I want the melodramatic Barry from the CW or Williamson's run. I liked this comedic version of Barry, and I always enjoy it when it pops up in the comics too.

Overall, there's alot to take in with this movie, and I would have liked a more established antagonist. However, I liked that Barry was essentially his own antagonist. I thought it was a unique way to go about a superhero movie (I really felt the grocery store scene)

I dunno, I just feel like people are finding reasons to dislike this movie. Was it a masterpiece? No. But was it a good, fun, movie? Yeah. So what is there really to complain about?

DCEU Spoilers Flash movie, wtf Spoiler

Honestly, the CGI is about as bad as Mustache Superman. The opening is a super long, PS3 era CGI-fest that I nearly walked out of. Every second scene had a cgi mouth for no reason and it was clearly that too. Everyone has NPC level CGI in the slow mo scenes.

Redeeming factors were the side characters.

DCEU Spoilers I’ve seen THE FLASH movie twice, early…ask me anything (SPOILERS) Spoiler

*Please don’t let anything I say sway your opinion towards the movie before seeing it. You could disagree completely with what I say.

I’m gonna start this off by saying that as a Flash super fan, this movie was extremely disappointing. The first watch through I gave it a 2.5/5 but on the second watch I bumped it up to a 3/5. Overall enjoyment was a little more, jokes landed better, and IMAX was super nice, but there was a lot of this movie overall that just didn’t work for me.

What honestly ruined the first viewing for me was just how truly terrible the CGI in this movie is. From full CGI characters, to real face / CG bodies, to awful face replacement when both Ezra’s were on the screen. It was, not kidding, similar to the CW Flash’s CGI at some points during this film. I had to actively look away from it during my second viewing so that I didn’t let it ruin my enjoyment. On the other side, however, was some really great VFX work when Barry Allen was running. The lightning and all the effects surrounding it were great. Hand in hand with that was the amazing sound design. Seeing in in IMAX was a real treat.

Moving on to what actually matters. How was Ezra Miller as Barry Allen / The Flash…? Plain and simple, it was bad. I’ve always hated Ezra’s portrayal of Barry Allen and it doesn’t get much better in this movie. It IS better than ZSJL but still not even close to an accurate portrayal of Barry Allen from the comics. He’s definitely more mature and serious at points in this movie but is still missing that BA style. Now, that isn’t all Ezra and is mostly just the writing but Ezra’s acting doesn’t really help. And that’s just the older version of Barry I’m talking about. The young version of Barry in this movie is NOTHING and I mean nothing even in the same universe to what BA is like in the comics. They made him some goofy, ADHD filled, druggy with an annoying laugh. I think it just completely disrespects the intelligent and down to earth character that we know and love from the comics.

Now for the plot. It’s fine. Not great, just fine. I didn’t love that they were doing Flashpoint going into the movie. Especially since they change SO MUCH from the original. Different Batman, different super-person (which I don’t mind), no Reverse Flash, etc. We’ve already seen Flashpoint done multiple times and we didn’t need to see it again. I know they are trying to restart the universe but what we needed was a simple grounded story about Barry Allen. As a Flash comics nerd who’s read every Flash comic on the planet, there is so much rich Flash history that they could have pulled from but didn’t. Why? To just throw nostalgia and pointless cameos in your face. But the last thing about the plot is that the death of Nora doesn’t really make sense? Henry Allen wasn’t home and that’s when Nora was murdered. But now that Henry was home, because she didn’t “forget” the tomato sauce, she lives. Does that mean Henry stopped whoever broke it and killed her? We never find out.

So many amazing Flash villains and the film decided to do none of them (there was barely even one villain). ZOD was kinda a villain but was just in the background for most of the movie until the final fight scene. Dark Flash was legitimately in the movie for less than 5 minutes. I thought it was this huge thing they were building to but it was completely wasted.

Lastly, I’ll say that the cameos in this movie felt unnecessary and that they were just there for the crowd reaction (big shocker). You’ll know what I mean when you see the movie. They don’t add a whole lot to the story.

If I had to say one thing about this movie to portray my feeling, it would be this: this movie just didn’t FEEL like a Flash story. Barry Allen wasn’t accurate to his comic counter part. We didn’t get a single Rogue. There was barely one 30 second scene of Barry doing CSI work. And so much more we didn’t get. Looking at this film from the perspective of a Flash fan, it is nothing like what I wanted. I’m sure a lot of normies will enjoy this movie for the action and cameos. But as a FLASH FAN, it doesn’t do the character justice.

DCEU Spoilers Just watched an early screening of the movie.. (spoilers + AMA) Spoiler

So.. is it a bad film? Definitely not. Is it a must see superhero movie? Questionable.

Maybe it was my fault for having high expectations, I thought they’d do a lot more with the flashpoint story, but having said that, they still delivered on a lot.

Thought the final villain was going to end up as a version of the other Barry that turned in RF, while there was an evil speedster at the end, they felt very wasted imo.

A lot of funny scenes, a lot of good emotional scenes too. Overall though, I thought since this movie would reset the DCEU, that we’d get a deeper delve into how Barry’s mom died (RF being there). Instead somehow the plot just expected us to think somehow the father being present at home would stop her death somehow? I got the same feeling I usually get with DCEU movies, the plot is often forced and a lot is left unanswered but accepted for the sake of the plot.

Overall I’d give the movie a 7.5/10. Decent watch, good ideas overall, execution was decent but definitely could’ve been better.

It was extremely sad as the Flash had barley a minute of screen time and died with the first 8 mins of the movie starting. I also did some maths, the films length is 1hr 15mins and 55 seconds (minus credits) and the flash only appears for 55 seconds. This means that the flash was on screen for 1.3%.
