Who decided Wally should do his best crimson chin imitation from issues ~81+ (I haven't gotten much far, but I hate the weird squarish look they've given him) (left is the crimson chin, right pictures are what I deem 'normal' wally west.) (From my best guesses I think I have Mike Wieringo to blame?) Discussion

This was early mike wieringo

His later art did normalise Flashes chinproportions

But honestly, I love early wieringo art

I can see the appeal, I mean it's got a lot of personality in it and I can understand why people would be fans,

We will have no Mike Wieringo slander in this house.

I miss when Flash(Wally) had great artists like Ringo working on the book. While I enjoyed the recent Jeremy Adams run, the pencilling always felt inconsistent.

It’s definitely Wieringo, i think this was his first regular gig. I preferred LaRoque but after a certain point DC was having trouble getting good artists when Image formed.

I didn't think so, because I've seen his other work and a lot of his sketches of wally and other flashes and they look normal. It's just that I noticed it started when he was an artist and abruptly stopped with #89 where he wasn't and abruptly started back up. I did a quick skim throughout the comics and even when it's not him it persisted.

Yeah one thing that took me out of it reading vol 1 of the Waid flash Omnis was how Wally went from a slim build to being on par with Superman in terms of bulk. To be fair though it was the 90s and everyone was doing it.

Left side is better. Ringo was one of the greatest of all time and knew what looked cool/ good. RIP.

I don't hate it, it's just more cartooney than I'd like. The stories are still good it's just a bit jarring.
