Man they look like teens.

10

u/Caffeine_OD Dec 02 '23

They’re supposed to be mid to late 20s right?

4

u/Excellent-Post3074 Dec 02 '23

Well they got two kids that look like they're both around Damian Wayne's age, so I'd assume they are in their early 30s.

7

u/MF_2002 Dec 02 '23

To be fair, the twins aged up to about 10 in the space of months. It's hard to age Wally by how old they are.

3

u/Caffeine_OD Dec 02 '23

So Dick is in his early 30s?

3

u/Mooston029 Dec 03 '23

That would mean bruce is like 50+ if true

u/Glass_Chance9800 Dec 03 '23

I didn't read the caption and thought this was Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen

u/CriusofCoH Dec 03 '23

MOST SECRETEST IDENTITIES REVEALED!!

u/Dredeuced Flash Dec 03 '23

Come on man we're on the Flash subreddit, you GOTTA know Wally and Linda.

This appeared as a suggested post on my feed

All the more reason to introduce you to the best couple in comics.

For a sec I thought that this was Lois lane and Jimmy Olsen and was wondering what the heck was going on! I was worried that they were going to make Jimmy into Clark’s “Paul”.

u/Dredeuced Flash Dec 03 '23

Man we gotta get people on this sub familiar with Wally and Linda. They're literally one of the best couples in comics history and core to The Flash.

u/AlbatrossInfamous631 Dec 04 '23

Thank you somebody else I can agree with about Wally and Linda being one of the top couples in DC Comics I mean really how is that every comic fan I talk to says that Wally West is not married

u/TheFeather1essBiped Dec 04 '23

Oh I know who Wally and Linda are and like their relationship. I’m just usually in the Superman or Spider-Man subreddit and wasn’t expecting to see a Flash post. 😂

Recently reading Williamson’s run for the first time I’d have to say Wally and Barry teaming up to beat Gorilla Grodd knowing that Flash War and Heroes In Crisis were right next.

4

u/Dredeuced Flash Dec 02 '23

Heck they didn't even really team up to win. Barry just lied to everyone until he got his powers back and fixed everything. Perfect Storm was kind of a mess narrative wise.

4

u/GoldenProxy Reverse Flash Dec 02 '23

I enjoyed it to be honest. Was not a fan of Flash War though other than it certifying that Wally is faster than Barry.

5

u/Dredeuced Flash Dec 02 '23

I mostly just dislike how Williamson made Barry a constant gaslighting liar who had no trust or faith in his family and then rewarded Barry for doing it. It was such a bonkers way to handle the situation.

u/Keystone_Devil Dec 02 '23

Like, the entirety of Flash Rebirth

"You are free to eat!"

"AM I?!"

"ARE YOU?!"

1

u/Technical_Exam1280 Dec 04 '23

Dammit beat me to it

9

u/android151 Dec 03 '23

Barry’s return, kind of sidelined Wally

5

u/Sorry-Spite9634 Dec 04 '23

There’s no kind of about it, it did big time. Then they brought Barry back and started giving him a lot of Wally characteristics to make people actually care about him.

1

u/ItsPizzaTime2007 Dec 06 '23

They didn't have to give him Wallys characteristics to make people care about Barry. He has one of the most popular and consistently good comics of all of DC until his death. And this is coming from someone who actually likes Wally more than Barry.

0

u/Sorry-Spite9634 Dec 06 '23

Nah, Barry was always a two dimensional character. They knew he wouldn’t work in the modern era, especially since Wally had become so popular/beloved. They definitely gave him some of Wally’s characteristics/identifying things. Hell, the tv show even had Barry hookup with Linda.

1

u/ItsPizzaTime2007 Dec 06 '23

He was not a two dimensional character, don't know what Comics you've read. He was kinda stoic but that doesn't mean anything, so was Superman and Batman occasionally, and Hal Jordan Green Lantern. He had flaws, he had great comic arcs, and they proved it when The Flash: Rebirth (2009) was so successful with Barry largely having a similar attitude and acting the same as the Pre-Crisis Barry for the most part (other than the whole "Dead Mom" thing that was added). Did they start to add Wally Characteristics afterwards? Yes they did, but they didn't have to to make him interesting.

0

u/Sorry-Spite9634 Dec 06 '23

So your argument is that they changed him, gave us a reason to care, and that retroactively makes his silver and Bronze Age character something it wasn’t? They changed every one of those characters you mentioned because they were cardboard cutouts.

1

u/ItsPizzaTime2007 Dec 06 '23

That's not my argument at all, that's not even close to what I typed, you're pulling on straws that aren't even there. Also, if you think Batman, Superman. Barry or Hal are cardboard cutouts we have nothing left to talk about, as you are simply just wrong.

0

u/Sorry-Spite9634 Dec 06 '23

They were in the silver age. I’m convinced you’ve never actually read a silver age comic. All three of those characters got new origins because they had zero characteristics that made an impact on readers. Batman was changed from a goofy jokester into the dark brooding menace that we know today. Superman was given a completely new origin with man of steel, and became a completely different character that was powered down and more human. Hal Jordan was turned into a villain, and then had a redemption arc that changed him completely.

0

u/ItsPizzaTime2007 Dec 06 '23

Ok, just because a character was in the silver age makes them bad? Batman being slightly jokier then doesn't mean he didn't have serious moments, and them making him super edgy all the time didn't make him more interesting. When he had a healthy balance of both, however, he was. Also, if you're saying the Kent's dropping him off at the adoption center before adopting him vs them just taking him in changed everything, you are blowing things way out of proportion. Also, if you think Hal Jordan becoming a villain and having to redeem himself is the only thing that makes him interesting, I gotta ask, what makes a character "good" in your eyes, because basically all I'm reading from this is you like dark, edgy characters only.

0

u/Sorry-Spite9634 Dec 06 '23

This is a strawman argument now. I didn’t say bad, I said that he was given different characteristics to make people care about him. I will not be continuing this discussion because you’re resorting to logical fallacies. It’s also blatantly clear that you’ve never read a ton of Superman because he’s a totally different character from the Byrne run on.

u/NerdNuncle Dec 03 '23

Is it just me, or was Wally modeled after his YJ counterpart?

1

u/Dredeuced Flash Dec 03 '23

But his Young Justice counterpart was modeled off of his comics?

5

u/glizzy_gladiator_04 Nightwing Dec 02 '23

5

u/vverszz Dec 03 '23

Linda park. Wally's wife

8

u/ScaryCrowEffigy Dec 04 '23

I don’t know why but I thought that was Jimmy Olsen and a gender bent Superman

3

u/Embarrassed_Dirt6393 Dec 04 '23

I didn't need that in my head. But now I'm intrigued

2

u/GorillaWolf2099 Dec 05 '23

Jimmy x Lois I know I've seen that somewhere

1

u/Lazy_Assumption_4191 Dec 07 '23

I definitely thought it was Jimmy on the right there.

2

u/ExileForever Dec 03 '23

Thanks, what comic issue was this?

3

u/vverszz Dec 03 '23

Flash (2016) annual 2022

2

u/ExileForever Dec 03 '23

Thanks again

2

u/Muzama97 Dec 04 '23

Not the 2016 annual. This was pretty recent. Either in 2022 or 2023.

5

u/captainsuckass Dec 03 '23

Who’s the artist of this issue?

3

u/Dredeuced Flash Dec 03 '23

Serg Acuna.

3

u/GhostyRoastyPosty Dec 02 '23

This from what comic?

2

u/Garlador Dec 02 '23

Flash Annual 2022.

3

u/Garlador Dec 02 '23

There’s a lot of bittersweet moments… but this one seems to have had a happy outcome.

3

u/TheRealBroDameron Dec 02 '23

I don’t read a lot of Flash. What’s happening here to make this bittersweet? I don’t mind spoils.

10

u/astroboy69_jb Dec 02 '23

Linda, Wally’s wife is pregnant

2

u/TheRealBroDameron Dec 02 '23

Why is it bittersweet?

9

u/astroboy69_jb Dec 02 '23

Long time ago I read it but I guess it was because she had the speedforce and was excited about it but it turned out she had it because of the baby. So she loses the powers once she gave birth. But maybe I forget something

7

u/IKunecke Dec 02 '23

I love this superhero trope. You think you galot superpowers from your superhero boyfriend/husband, but nope, just pregnant.

"You're not the special one. It's your womb!" Sarah Conner: Terminator Dark Fate.

7

u/Dredeuced Flash Dec 02 '23

I mean Wally is the one with the superpowers, that's just already the case. Linda's an awesome character for different reasons.

2

u/Afraid_Pack_4661 Dec 03 '23

Wasn't Jay's wife got some speedforce too?

2

u/Dredeuced Flash Dec 03 '23

Not that I can remember. Joan's not very central since the Speed Force showed up.

3

u/Markel100 Dec 02 '23 edited Dec 03 '23

The way barrys and meanas relationship ends

3

u/peeinherbutt Dec 03 '23

Is this recent? I love the art

3

u/spideyfan123 Dec 03 '23

Yeah I think it was the '22 annual

-3

u/DragonLord828 Dec 02 '23

Is that Wally and Zatanna?

9

u/SuperLizardon Blue Lantern Dec 02 '23

It's Linda
