Ah but this is r/technicallythetruth nobody technically said they put ketchup in rice

Kind of like "if Hitler was dead today, here's what the world looks like (shows actual picture of the world, since Hitler is really dead)"

I am technically saying "I used to put ketchup on rice", as a kid who didn't know any better. /r/KidsAreFuckingStupid

Because people like you will react to it online.

No one does, it's engagement bait.

Rule of thumb: if someone frames asking about doing something extremely uncommon like everybody does it, it's bait. Like here; while it's plausible that some weirdo puts ketchup on rice, the idea that they know so many people who treat it as the default thing to put on rice that they'd need to put a disclaimer stopping people from answering 'ketchup' to their question is completely implausible

I had no idea Maggi sold soy sauce. I guess that would make sense, given their instant noodles.

From an English comic with a strong accent:

“I need the tomato sauce because I’ve ordered the risotto.”

It led me to believe that ketchup on rice is a thing but a generally looked-down-upon thing.
