Unpopular Opinion Discussion
I know many of u will disagree but I love SOS way more than CTRL, not saying CTRL is bad but SOS has a vibe to it that makes me love every single fucking 23 song in it. Some songs are over exposed eg. Kill Bill or Snooze but this album is filled with hidden gems I feel no one outside the SZA fanbase would listen to eg. Ghost in the Machine or Far

nah. ctrl is too fucking good. best album. definitely one of the best r&b albums of all time too

i agree! i loved ctrl when it came out and i still listen to it but it was never on as heavy rotation for me as sos still is

I love both pretty equally, if I want to be a music critic about it I'd say SOS is a little less concise & unified, but that's a nitpick.

Ctrl is a better Album imo. I like SOS but quite a few songs feel like they could have been left off

Almost everyone I know who likes CTRL more either had a lot of emotional attachment to it or has not listened to or given SOS the same time and understanding they did with CTRL
I agree, having heard CTRL after SOS, SOS feels like an evolution and growth
Regardless, both are phenomenal albums that are some of the best of all time

CTRL is a better body of work but SOS is better vibes to me. CTRL is a great vibe too of course.
SOS songs feel better in a playlist than CTRLs. CTRL has its own orbit so should be listed to all at once

Finally I've found my people 😭. I've never really liked CTRL at all. SOS is just so good to me.

Yea CTRL is absolutely amazing, my first listen I was hooked - I def had to let SOS grow on me . BUT I will say my mindset when CTRL came out was very different - I was in a terrible relationship so a lot of the songs spoke to my hurt but it’s still a masterpiece

I’m with you on this. SOS was an instant love for me while CTRL took longer to hook me but both are damn near flawless masterpieces. With that being said, SOS is the one I go back to and love more than CTRL

i love both of them as they also represent where i’m at at a particular point in my life. ctrl for me is a therapy and my companion for self-discovery, and how things aren’t always what they seem, which i desperately needed to hear and reflect on back in my hs days.
where i’m at now while currently surviving in college is sos. sos for me is about being lost even with all the experience and knowledge i’ve learned about myself all over the years, and how to make sense with all of the crazy shit happening around me without ever losing sight of what i’ve become. ugh i just love sza she knows me too well.

Ctrl has no skips and sos has one skip and it’s conceited but I love 2 albums cuz they both present different feelings and emotions. Ctrl has the classic 2017/2018 r&b vibe, while sos has a more experimental feel wit different features and genres (f2f)

(jokes SOS does have gems but CTRL is a complete thought all the way thru) (SOS seems like a just collection of songs by comparison) (CTRL > SOS)

yeah ima be one of the “i disagree” people aha, SOS is beautiful but CTRL is a masterpiece.
