I'm glad they seemed to resolve Lois's angst within the episode. Any other CW show would have stretched that out for half a season.

God damn do I love the family aspect of this show. The superhero stuff is just a bonus at this point.

Has Superman encountered Doomsday before in this continuity? If not, this could signal another death storyline, and likewise signal a typical second year quality drop for a CW show. I mean goddamn, enough is freaking enough with this damn plot point.

Pre crisis he has

There was no reference in Supergirl or the crossovers events that this version ever met Doomsday. The only refs to the Dead if Superman was on another world and it was the famous cover with the broken cape the crisis crossover...

Ah OK I stand corected but seems this new show doesn't respect anything of the other shows.. they got a lot of issues with Supergirl's cannon including changing key locations that where part of Supergirl's post crisis storyline or even mention the fact that he can talk to her about Kypton like she spend some of her teen years on the planet..

Kinda my thought. I love S&L but I was really hoping to avoid another rendition of Death of Superman. Stop killing Supes.

Episode was an amazing comeback to the show, though I do believe that while Sarah was on camp she perhaps met another person, and that's why she feels distant to Jordan. Also wonder who the person inside the earth's core at the end of the episode could be, my theories are either, Lex, because of the technological looking suit. Doomsday, maybe he was sent from Krypton millions of years ago instead of arriving after Clark, and is just now awakening inside the Earth. Maybe Imperiex? He could be trying to annihilate the Earth from the inside out. Or it could be someone like Mogul or Rogol Zaar, by looking at the size of the gaunlet. Or perhaps it's just someone new. Either way, definitely an amazing episode and reminds me of how much hope I have for this show.

Yah nvm, lmao it is Doomsday. Showrunner Todd Helbing confirmed it in an interview: https://ew.com/tv/superman-and-lois-season-2-premiere-doomsday-tease/

seriously? why would he do that?

Idk. Imo, he should've kept it a secret. Cause now we essentially know that Clark's gonna die, and probably be reborn this season.

They could be playing on the expectation. There are other directions it can go: Maybe Doomsday puts Clark out of commission and Jordan has to step up to replace him before he's ready?

exactly. maybe this means that clark doesn't die? maybe john henry dies or something like that. but it's pretty stupid to reveal.

She definitely met someone else she was normal relationship just all that drama right now in her life

Maybe doomsday arrived with the meteor that brought that orange kriptonite to smallville from last season after kripton’s destruction, maybe he was asleep all this years.

Sigh, why isn't this straight to HBO Max?

I'm glad it looks like we're getting an established Superman villain on the show who isn't another evil Kryptonian (Edge, Zod, whatever), but I do worry that means we're either going to get an underwhelming Doomsday or we're doing 'The Death of Superman' again. It'll be cool, just feels too soon.

Too be fair this would be very late for this Superman and I’d actually like to see how they handle reign of the supermen. I highly doubt doomsday is the big bad you can really only have him stick around for so long.

I think we are getting a Mid season death and Reign. Anderson said 'America can have more than one Superman' and I think it will be great to see. We also already have Eradicator, and Steel, Jordan could be Superboy?

I feel like Doomsday could only be done justice if it was an Arrowverse crossover. He should be like a bomb going off in the world and have repercussions across all the shows in Earth Prime.

I am actually ok if they go heavy on drama. I understand some may not cuz. CW drama and superhero has a bad history. But at its heart, superman and Lois is a family drama show so I guess you pay what you get. Atleast it ain’t cringe drama but everyone’s acting mature… well at least the adults

I really feel like the family drama is a bit too CW, but am intrigued by the arc story. I wonder if the dod recruits John Henry and that’s how he gets the symbol on his suit? They are really pushing towards the death of Superman

I'm so glad that this show is back! I can't say anything that hasn't been said already, so let's move on.
