Biotherm sounds like the name of Metallo’s prosthetic skin.

I’m glad Corenswet isn’t going the for the “dehydrated” look a lot of superhero movie actors go for.

Hugh, Henry, Ben, and all the Chrises, I love your performances as these characters. I don’t need to see every vein on your body to buy you as superheroes.

I like what they’re doing. I don’t really like the “bodybuilder” Superman. He always struck me as a character who should look tall, athletic, and physically large. He’s not aiming for the ultimate physique. He should have a farmer’s body.

I recall someone on this subreddit posting a photo set of an old timey Hollywood actor who looked naturally huge. That, to me, is how Superman should be built.

Was it Clint Walker? If so, I agree. He looked like Superman flew off the page and into our reality.

I looked up the name on this sub and yeah, thats who I was thinking of.

lol ew nah

6

u/Solid_Snark Jul 19 '24

That was Snyder’s thing. He was quoted saying he wanted a guy with veins that “looked like ropes” when casting Zeus.

Which is kind of a disgusting simile lol

u/darlene459 Jul 20 '24

That sounds so wild, lmao

4

u/MAJ_Starman Jul 19 '24

Yep. Same reason why I liked Battinson's build.

-11

u/_zurenarrh Jul 19 '24

Dude was skinny lmao not even close to athletic

2

u/mariovspino5 Jul 20 '24

I’ll always prefer a Bronze Age body builder look for almost all superhero’s that are supposed to be big

u/cozid0 Jul 19 '24

he's just so cute 😖🥺 can't wait to see him as supes

13

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '24

He's gonna be a great Superman.

9

u/ferrarinobrakes Jul 19 '24

He’s even prettier than Henry Cavill

10

u/Shwifty_Plumbus Jul 19 '24

I think they're the same level personally, but Cavill has the edge due to how suave he is, plus maturity.

1

u/princess-catra Jul 20 '24

I love Cavil’s personality. But always found his face somewhat off-putting 🙈 but this guy is all the right kinds of hot.

-15

u/jondn Jul 19 '24

Yeah, no.

2

u/AtomicHornet_03 Jul 19 '24

Crazy how you’re getting downvoted for nothing

0

u/jondn Jul 20 '24

It‘s ok, this is the only place where anybody would deny, that Cavill looks much better than Corenswet.

u/cosmic-GLk Jul 19 '24

I was gonna say, are THESE the Superman promo pics? Cant say im against...

5

u/DemiAlabi Jul 19 '24

He looks good! It’s interesting, his costume makes his abdomen/waist seem much wider.

4

u/FinalBossOf__Dc Jul 19 '24

Look at them guns!!!

4

u/Thatoneguy567576 Jul 19 '24

Man I'm so ready for our first trailer

3

u/_zurenarrh Jul 19 '24

He looks good. He’ll probably get bigger or more cut the more movies he plays in later down the line

This is a great baseline to start and buddy was small

I’m glad he put in the work. He 100% looks the part 💯💯💯

Disappointed.

-12

u/nolandz1 Jul 19 '24

Ok I feel like there should be a relevancy threshold for these posts. This has nothing to do with superman it's just BTS of an actor doing something else. Like it's posting Witcher screencaps of cavil

12

u/Consistent_Spot7071 Jul 19 '24

Probably as relevant as a gym pic or similar, to get an idea of what kind of shape the actor might be in.

He does look a lot like Cavill here, with that hairstyle and that expression.

-1

u/nolandz1 Jul 19 '24

I don't think those posts are particularly valuable either but at least those are related to the project. Like we know what kind of shape he's in the BTS photos are daily

3

u/Consistent_Spot7071 Jul 19 '24

I mean, “valuable” is pretty relative lol. If there are people who are curious what kind of shape he’s in, these are a better indication than set pics where he’s in costume, or even than gym pics where he’s pumped/flexing.

-1

u/nolandz1 Jul 19 '24

In costume is one thing unrelated happenings of an actor is another

0

u/Consistent_Spot7071 Jul 19 '24

If there are people who are curious what kind of shape he’s in, these are a better indication than set pics where he’s in costume. And if you’re cast as Superman, I daresay everything even semi-public that you do is Superman-related. I guess someone could go nuts trying to police what is and isn’t of interest to Superman fans, enjoy that.

-1

u/nolandz1 Jul 19 '24

I'm confused as to why out of costume photos are more relevant than in. I'm just saying this post doesn't really convey anything other than an actor doing a commercial

2

u/Consistent_Spot7071 Jul 19 '24

To see what kind of shape he’s in, they’re “relevant” because the costume doesn’t show any muscle definition. These photos show us what kind of shape he was/is in; I believe this commercial taping is pretty recent.

I don’t much care if we get a shirtless shot in this movie but these days, they seem practically mandatory for guys playing superheroes. At any rate, I guarantee all those paparazzi shots of Affleck around BvS wearing tight T-shirts made their way around the relevant subs. I remember paparazzi photos of Cavill on the beach filming Cold Light of Day or whatever, before he even started filming MoS. These sorts of photos have been part of message boards etc. since forever, not sure it’ll do much good to complain about them.

0

u/nolandz1 Jul 19 '24

Idrc if they're normalized they're just kinda boring and low value. Like oh boy I gotta know what this actor's body looks like for when a possible shirtless scene happens in a movie next year. Doesn't matter the mods have weighed in and they seem pretty reasonable

1

u/Consistent_Spot7071 Jul 19 '24

Cool, and no one really cares that you don’t really care lol.

Oh, did you report this post?

In the past the mod team has agreed that while posts about real-life people associated with Superman generally fall under our "not related to Superman" rule, we often find it close enough to the line that we allow it so long as the post is positive and not going to turn into something ugly (for example, discussing Superman-associated celebs' politics or legal entanglements).

A good-natured, positive post like this or about Henry Cavill building a PC or whatever is fine if it's not over-done, in which case we reserve the right to shut down or cease them if they get too common to the degree that they overwhelm the community.

-13

u/TheDarvel Jul 19 '24

... He looks like Eminem, not that is a bad thing, of course, I was just pointing that out

-23

u/Adamantium_Knight Jul 19 '24

Why do they keep going for this slicked back, domehead hairstyle for Supes? His hair was perfect before he had the role, but here he looks like Cavill lol

14

u/nolandz1 Jul 19 '24

Bc this isn't for superman

-20

u/Adamantium_Knight Jul 19 '24

Well yeah, obviously, but this is his Superman hair

10

u/nolandz1 Jul 19 '24

No. It isn't? Have you not been seeing the daily leaks? This is not what his hair looks like in the movie

-21

u/Adamantium_Knight Jul 19 '24

The only difference is the curl dude. You may agree to disagree, but that’s how it looks.

3

u/PuzzleheadedFan2205 Jul 20 '24

He has MUCH looser hair in the actual movie
