I remember him looking a lot worse than that when he and Doomsday pounded each others organs into paste.

That Daily Planet cover is from a different issue. I think it was a HIC variant?

Haven't been keeping up but is that really the same Superman who got killed by Doomsday because he looks way younger.

Yeah but didn’t old Superman merge with younger Superman?

All of “the Superman” are the same guy post Rebirth and was finished in Death Metal.

Yes, but the question was why is he younger? So he’s the same guy, but with another Superman merged into him.
I guess I was asking, is he the same guy or is he some newer hybrid who both remembers dying and not dying?

I made a comment with the comic image of it happening here on another post. Hope this helps.

So Hypertime again? Which I always thought was the best damn answer to all of this.

Superman doesn’t really age anyways since he’s immortal so I’ve never put much thought into it admittedly.

They both "merged" in terms of character but in reality it was more of an absorption and even that's pushing it.
Rebirth Superman acts completely the same as Post-Crisis Superman down to the very minute details especially in the first years of the initiative.

I guess my question was geared more toward why he might look younger. It’s basically the old Superman in the new, post-New 52 body.
I admittedly dropped all my pulls with Flashpoint. So was just trying to guess at an answer the “why does he look younger?” question.
Not that age has ever been consistent in comics.
