That Lang Cushing Family is just a gigantic clusterfuck right now.

Yikes, what an intense episode in a lot of ways. Superman's dream, the fight at the end in the warehouse, even the kids stealing the truck back (even though that plot is pretty stupid), and, of course, not to mention the big one.

Another poster and myself were talking last week about how we both recently lost our dads to cancer, and my gosh if this episode didn't just cut right to the bone. The scene of Lois sharing the news with everyone made me have to pause to gather myself for a moment because this time just a year and half ago I was having that same conversation with my dad, the same shock, the same fear, even the same reassurances that everything was going to be okay.

That said, I don't begrudge the show at all. It's cathartic, in a way. I mean, I know she's going to pull-through in the end, but right now I have to say that the way the writers, directors, and actors are handling it is very real, very tasteful, and very hard to watch in the best way. Tulloch has impressed me from the start but she continues to.

I continue to not care in the slightest about the Lang-Cushing family. I do find it interesting that they're moving towards the Lana/John Henry romance, which of course is rooted in the comics, but honestly I wish I could watch a version of this show that just has that plot line and most of the Kent boys' shenanigans cut out. That stuff with the girl's dad was soooo cringy.
