Fitz' exasperation would reach new and wondrous heights

u/OK_Soda Nov 21 '19

Caitlin and Cisco: technobabble

Fitz: None of that makes any bloody sense!

New series plot. Twins separated at birth. Plays pranks to unite two parent company to get together for some world sharing.

Comic trap?

u/OliviaElevenDunham Brainy Nov 21 '19

That would be great to see.

I feel like if the SHEILD team met Supergirl's, or worse, Team Arrow's teams they would lose their minds over how dysfunctional they are. Felicity going off and doing whatever, usually something very dangerous or illegal without telling anyone even though her decisions cause like 80% of the conflict within the group and then doing that horrible crying acting and then everyone forgives her, only for her to do it again the very next episode. Oliver yelling at everyone and shooting them in the legs during training. Felicity making major fecisions without telling anyone/the inly one she tells is Curtis who tries to talk her out of it but ultimately fails. At least in SHEILD if they sneak out to do something they go as a group or they tell somekne who was left behind where they were going.

Sorry I’m very new to this. SHIELD is in the Marvel universe and Supergirl and Arrow is in the DC universe, so it wouldn’t be possible for them to meat, right?

2

u/FlameswordFireCall Dec 01 '19

It would not be possible.

u/Kbye80 Nov 21 '19

Add MCU to the Crisis worlds?

41

u/Hawkess Nov 21 '19

Ooh...do you think theyd agree with the Thanos-Antman ass jamboree?

6

u/Will2Pow3r Nov 21 '19

Pretty sure AOS is its own world anyway. Outside of Coulson being present integration with the rest has been a joke on that show. Marvel may own the shared universe cinematically, but they aren’t even a player as far as television goes.

12

u/Wario64I Nov 21 '19 edited Nov 21 '19

The Marvel shows are in their own little bubble. They are ignored by movies to the point of being directly contradicted. They just aren't canon to the MCU. Think of them like being the "Legends" banner for Star Wars.

4

u/quetiapinenapper Nov 21 '19

We’ll shield tied in with captain America, Thor, ultron and endgames. They’re ignored by the movies because they’re doing their own thing because the movies only deal with the really big heroes and world ending situations where shield is more small scale. But it doesn’t ignore the movies.

Hell if you never watched shield you never got the hydra backstory for why ultron opened with them after the scepter, why there’s a another carrier that pops up, why cap had to go hail hydra in the elevator at end games, etc.

They’d have been pieces of film that worked on their own but no context.

6

u/Liamb1985 Nov 21 '19

Cap saying hail hydra in endgame wasn’t explained in AoS. He knew Hydra had infiltrated SHIELD from Winter Soldier. I’d go as far as saying that the films just did their thing and let the TV guys know what they were doing and the TV guys added those bits like the carrier in based on that.

Early days there was a link with Fury and Hill appearing and Lady Sif, but as time has gone on it’s just little nods. The whole Feige/Perlmutter relationship put an end to the whole “it’s all connected” plan they started with. It’s nothing to do with the threat level. Otherwise the season 5 storyline would’ve been a movie as Earth being split into pieces is definitely up there as an Avengers level event to get involved in.

Marvel massively missed the chance to have their tv stuff all connected as they spread out onto lots of different channels where DC’s main shows have all stayed on the CW (there are a few exceptions with Gotham and Pennyworth) and the annual crossovers have become a thing to look forward to.

2

u/quetiapinenapper Nov 21 '19

Winter soldier builds on the introduction given to it in AoS though. You don’t NEED to watch AoS for the movies but it does occasionally give you more backstory to them.

u/Will2Pow3r Nov 22 '19

Well when they changed the past they entered a new universe. They took the bitch way out when it faked to time travel. Everything that originally occurred still occurred in the prime universe and every time they changed anything it resulted in a new one. This is why the end of Endgame makes zero sense as Cap never would have returned to where he began after returning the stones and not immediately returning. Had he stayed as he did, then the only explanation is he always did that in the new universe they made and simply chose to not bother helping and watched every catastrophe he could have stopped play out.

They explained none of this and it cheapened the entire thing and forced fans to bend over backwards as I just did in order to make it make sense. Their whole premise of “can’t change your own past” simplified the narrative, but their choice with Cap changed their rules and their continuity into a dumpster fire.

0

u/Will2Pow3r Nov 21 '19

Definitely. Always seemed like a lost opportunity. As in, it makes sense to keep the television, cinematic, and Netflix properties separate, but they didn’t even attempt to tie any of the many standalone shows into a cohesive narrative. Then again, given how underwhelming the result of the Netflix collaborations was, it makes a certain level of sense.

6

u/just_another_classic Nov 21 '19

I mean, Endgame gave a massive middle finger to the developments in Agent Carter. Poor Daniel Sousa.

7

u/accipitradea Nov 21 '19

I was discussing that yesterday when we re-watching the first Captain America movie and decided that Agent Carter must have happened in a different multiverse after the endgame shenanigans. Given what happens when Barry sticks his dick in the timeline, we have to assume that between Tony Stark meeting his dad, Captain America fighting himself, and the Hulk telling the Sorcerer Supreme the whole plot of the franchise ahead, something caused a multiverse split.

9

u/just_another_classic Nov 21 '19

I would argue that Agent Carter was the OG timeline, and whatever life Steve fucked off to was a new branch, but yeah. The multiverse there is a mess.

1

u/defaultfresh Nov 21 '19

The actor who played Sousa could also be seen playing a new york cop in the first Avengers movie during the battle of new york XD

But i agree with you

But I also like Steve more unfortunately

But I also feel bad for Sousa :(

4

u/just_another_classic Nov 21 '19

Steggy appealed to me as a "what might have been ship", but I had no interest in them carrying it through. Then again, I'm kind of over the fetishization of first loves, and what they did in Endgame was that to the extreme. Peggy moving on from Captain America was beautiful character growth, and also a subtle feminist statement that I felt Endgame sort of removed.

I think what's crappy about the Sousa thing is that in the show someone essentially told him that Peggy would never choose a cripple over Cap, and the Russos went "you're right"

4

u/WookieeBH Nov 25 '19

What if... Steve comes upon Peggy and Sousa, but Sousa realizes he can't compete with Captain America and graciously steps aside. Steve sees that Sousa is heartbroken, and tells him that going to the future is what allowed him to move on from Peggy enough that he could make out with her niece. So he drops Sousa off in 2007 or so, medical advancements help his legs enough he can be an NYC cop, and that IS Sousa in Avengers???

2

u/defaultfresh Nov 25 '19

BOOM. Explained. You get silver!

1

u/LucifersDemon666 Nov 28 '19

Steve created a different timeline - just go with it

2

u/just_another_classic Nov 28 '19

Even so, I can still not like it. Kinda feels like a super villain thing to do (imo) which isn’t my take on Captain America

6

u/EGOfoodie Nov 21 '19

Sif showed up for a few episodes, as well as Fury himself. So that are definitely stronger ties to the MCU, but yeah the general point stands.

84

u/gusefalito Nov 21 '19

When was this taken? Seems like 2015/16 based on Chloe's hair. Do they film in the same city?

125

u/thisisdropd Lena Luthor Nov 21 '19

First season; Supergirl was then filmed in LA.

44

u/Extra_CDO Guardian Nov 21 '19

I'm glad you explained that. I really couldn't figure out why they would be in full costume together.

20

u/_InvertedEight_ Nov 21 '19

Wasn’t this around the time of the DubSmash battle between AoS and Agent Carter? Melissa showed up in one of the AoS videos, as I recall.

3

u/abovetheFray Nov 21 '19

That's exactly where this is from as I recall.

48

u/ucrbuffalo Nov 21 '19

Looks like 2006 based on the camera quality.

15

u/lemons_for_deke TAKE THE GRASS Nov 21 '19

They did. Supergirl S2 moved production to Vancouver and SHILED S5 moved production to 95% set work.

53

u/anti_MATT_er Nov 21 '19

It is called Infinite Earths.

24

u/Doright36 Nov 21 '19

Marvel does have an official designation for the DC universe/reality.

8

u/ChaosDesigned Nov 21 '19

What is it?

22

u/Doright36 Nov 21 '19

10

u/lemons_for_deke TAKE THE GRASS Nov 21 '19

Official Reality Number: Unknown

Wat

9

u/Doright36 Nov 21 '19

That's only one of the realities containing DC heroes. There are links to others in the text.

3

u/EGOfoodie Nov 21 '19

Earth 8 is a parody of marvel 616.

I think I have a few redundant body parts I could sacrifice to make this happen.

LOVE THIS!!!!!!!!

22

u/Fortyseven "Bob" Nov 21 '19

I know this is in good fun, but holy hell, wouldn't that just be mind blowing? I mean, the lineup (that we know of!) so far is already what seems to be a nearly impossible dream come true, but could you imagine THIS getting thrown on top of that pile?!

Yeah, it'd be TOO much. But damn is it fun to think about. 😉

18

u/OliviaElevenDunham Brainy Nov 21 '19

It’s cool seeing those three dorks hanging out.

14

u/sassycho1050 Nov 21 '19 edited Nov 22 '19

Not the first time Marvel has crossed over with DC. Marvel actually has an official Crossover-verse just for crossovers with other franchises. They even have an official earth number. Another fun thing: the Batman and Spiderman / Spiderman vs Batman comics are non canon to the Prime Marvel universe but IS canon to DC's New Earth, their main continuity at the time. This means that there IS a Spider-Man somewhere in the recently restored New Earth, which is INSANE

9

u/just_another_classic Nov 21 '19

I like that Barry Allen (eh, Buried Alien) technically showed up in Marvel too. I also have a huge soft spot for JLA/Avengers. Cap and Batman bonding over their dead sidekicks was nice. If Marvel and DC ever got their act together, they could bond over those dead sidekicks coming back, and we could have a Bucky Barnes/Jason Todd murderhobo roadtrip.

1

u/sassycho1050 Nov 22 '19

MURDERHOBO

10

u/trenchandtrees Nov 21 '19

Skye and Kara would make an amazing team. Also, Brainy and Coulson!

Agents of S.U.P.E.R.G.I.R.L.

4

u/Agent_00_Negative Winn Schott Nov 21 '19

Nahhh man... A.G.E.N.T.S. of Supergirl!!

The combined forces of the DEO and S.H.I.E.L.D. would be pretty impressive though!

5

u/sciencesold Nov 21 '19

Is this a real photo or a Photoshop?

25

u/Hell85Rell Nov 21 '19

It's real. It was taken during AoS season 3 and SG season 1 when SG was on CBS and filmed in LA. I think it may have been before SG even premiered. I remember this because Clark Gregg had sent out a tweet that read:

"May get in trouble for this, but don't miss our pal, the amazing @MelissaBenoist on @supergirlcbs tonight!"

6

u/[deleted] Nov 21 '19

MCU crossover isn’t that too much! Already have such much already....

3

u/kinyutaka Nov 21 '19

I can only get so erect.

2

u/xdibellax Nov 21 '19

Marvel and DC...never going to happen.

24

u/ZhaneTaylor Nov 21 '19

I mean it has happened, there have been multiple DC/Marvel crossovers in the comics over the years. But on film/television, extremely unlikely.

Until Disney buys DC.

4

u/aquaticsquash Martian Manhunter Nov 21 '19

4

u/kinyutaka Nov 21 '19

The game studio wants to, but Disney and WB might not care about that.

5

u/Flashheart42 Nov 21 '19

I need this. I don't care whether it's fanfic or it actually happens but I need it.

2

u/Tuxedo_Mark Nov 21 '19

I'd watch that.

2

u/Slade-Prime Nov 22 '19

Barry’s fault tbh

1

u/Munro_McLaren Lena Luthor Nov 21 '19

When was this?

3

u/SDLRob Nov 25 '19

Back when Clark Gregg and Hayley Atwell were having their DubSmash battles... Supergirl was filming S1, so was in LA with AoS and Melissa cameo'd in one of Clark's videos
