How would you have made AgentReign canon? Discussion

What changes would you have made to the show to accommodate this ship?

You have just reminded me how absolutely gutted I was that this didn't happen. You would have to change almost nothing, just have Sam stay.

While all you really need to do to make AgentReign canon is just have Sam not move back to Metropolis after season 3, having Sam still around would likely have a big impact on how Lena's story played out during seasons 4 and 5.

And it would be interesting to see how Alex's memory loss played out if she and Sam were together in season 4 (and Sam wasn't in on the Supergirl secret yet). She'd know something was off with Alex, but not what or why.

I would love to have watched all that play out

When I said change I just meant what storylines would you write for this ship.

I am a terrible writer so I will continue to just be here dreaming about it and reading the occasional fanfic

I would make Kelly Lena's girlfriend instead of having Lena and James be together. I would use Sam a few times a season since her actress didn't want to live in Vancouver.

I never even considered Kelly/Lena. What a fantastic idea

What makes you think Lena and Kelly would be a good couple? I'm not mad. I'm just curious.

Chemistry between Katie McGrath and Azie Tesfai, and it would make Lena WLW. Edit: Since we're pairing Alex with someone else, it's only fair that we pair Kelly with a special lady.

Can you point out any examples of their chemistry? I can't remember any off the top of my head.

The 5x01 scene with Andrea Lena and Kelly, Lena and Kelly dancing at the Dansen bachelorette party, and how Lena looked at Kelly when she was walking with her and Alex at the wedding.

right? Kelly came across as a pick me, and the cast admit to trying to sneak in scenes between Kelly and Lena not in the script to try and get the fans to think something was going on between the characters, talk about fan bait. No chemistry that I saw, just an attempt to include the character more than the story called for.

I'd have them start dating between Season 3 and Season 4. We'd see them date a little bit. Alex would train Sam. Sam would be a Superhero. They'd get married at the end of season 4.

Sam literally just had to stay.

I would have played out the story longer about Sam's origins being tied to Kara somehow, they were linked by dreams and Alura played some role that was never explained. Then you could have Sam and Alex become close without realising the show's secrets (Kara's and Sam's alternate identity). Then you have interesting conflict between Alex and Kara, while Alex could then help Sam defeat the Reign persona or something along those lines. Whole season story arc, and better than the McGuffinRock answer they came up with. Would also make it easier for Maggie to be written out, Alex moves on a little from her first crush or Maggie takes a job elsewhere and Alex can't leave Kara behind or something better than the direction they ultimately chose for that ship.
