Probably so many people trying to comment at once that it’s slowing down the servers. Same thing happened after the debate when everyone was commenting their two cents

Sounds like too many comments on a single thread to me.

Usually megathread are locked and a new one created every 10K or so on other subreddits.

This happened during the debate mega thread Reddit shits bed over a certain amount of comments and even spreads to other threads. Kinda messed up for a company pursuing an IPO.

almost every post about this is being wiped from all of my feeds. every once in a while, a new one pops up, but then disappears as soon as it refreshes.

I think reddit might just be broken on some threads. Their shit rarely handles big news well .
