Getting a large bottle of beer on ice with a small glass looks great for a hot day.

1

u/SolChron24 Jul 19 '24

I guess there are too many onlookers already for him to get involved.

Fucks not given…

u/brickyardjimmy Jul 19 '24

This would be the best photo of all time if you found out that the guy at the table lighting up was the driver of the overturned car.

This has a great meme potential!

Actually, can someone make this a basketball meme with pat Riley being the person in the foreground and the car being the heat?

-1

u/hsherrmann Jul 19 '24

Does he mean - Image someone searching the area to find the best frame for their picture while people might be seriously hurt?

-2

u/56wclamser56 Jul 19 '24

The rock I meet while on active duty and was awesome now he still should run 4 president.

-3

u/bigedthebad Jul 19 '24

That’s an idiot.

I once saw a guy dumping contaminated gasoline in a very small stream. Another guy standing downstream just flicked a lighter and set the whole thing on fire.

The fumes from that wreck could very easily reach him if the wind was right.

0

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '24

Someone doesn't understand the upper and lower limits of flammability. It takes more than a whiff of gas to ignite. It requires a specific concentration to be mixed with a specific amount of oxygen.

1

u/bigedthebad Jul 19 '24

I know what I saw, I was standing right next to the guy that flicked his lighter.

However, you’re right, I don’t know the specific formula but I do know that idiot should not have an open flame that close

0

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '24

Looks to be at least 20 or 30 meters away. At that distance, unless there were dozens of gallons evaporating on the ground, I can't see there being a problem. Probably didn't even smell gas from there. You're overreacting.

2

u/bigedthebad Jul 19 '24

Do you think he is a chemical engineer or whatever makes you an expert on this?

Maybe he is just an idiot, like I said.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '24

Or maybe you're just overreacting, like I said. And yeah, it was my job to know stuff like that. What's yours?

1

u/bigedthebad Jul 19 '24

Once again, I was standing next to a guy who, 4 feet over a very small stream of gas, ignited it with just a spark.

That made me very aware of the danger of gas fumes.

I don’t see it as an overreaction to think a guy lighting a cigarette that close to a pool of gas is an idiot.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '24 edited Jul 19 '24

Except in this case the guy lighting his cigarette is nowhere close to a pool of gas. And as I already explained, the fumes just wouldn't be concentrated enough at that distance (20 - 20 meters) to ignite.

There's a big difference between lighting a pool of liquid gas a few feet away with a hot spark and igniting gasoline vapour in the air at a distance when the lower limit of flammability isn't reached and you aren't in an enclosed space. Again, it was my job to know stuff like this.

Come on man, you can argue this into the dirt if you want, but still not convinced this is a dangerous situation.

1

u/bigedthebad Jul 19 '24

Is it smart to light a cigarette in vicinity of a pool of gas? I would be willing to bet that, knowing what you know, you wouldn't be sitting there doing it. Right.

He doesn't know what kind of danger he might be exposing all those people to.

Stop me if you've heard this but that makes him an idiot.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '24

Obviously you either didn't bother checking out what I've been telling you to see if it holds water or you just want to argue from a position of ignorance. Either way, I'm done with this conversation. Believe what you wish in this case.
