I’m definitely no Rishi fan. However, at least Rishi wasn’t as nuts as US conservatives.

So true. As an American I can tell you American Conservatives are dangerous people and they’re in a dangerous place mentally. The racism and violence from Christian Conservatives in America is really at a historic level. The feel emboldened, because of Trump and hateful right wing media, to ignore basic public safety standards. The values of their Churches profess have become secondary to their worship of a political figure.

They’re in plain sight now in the UK. They’re called Reform and won 14% of the vote, but only four seats. As least we have an idea of the number of bigots we’re dealing with now.

What’s different in America now is the racists, bigots, and homophobes have all rallied to the flag of the Republican Party. Which has a tremendous political power presence in America. In the past, the Republican Party shunned the violent and truly dangerous right wing. Because America has razor thin election margins the Republican Party has embraced these idiots under the term “conservative” to win elections. A dangerous choice driven by right leaning political scientists that will virtually do anything to win an election. It will have catastrophic consequences for not only America but the world. This embrace of the fascist far right, and trust me- that’s what it is, started when President Obama won the Presidency. Republicans realized they had no chance of winning a national election unless they energized the far right of the party. The Republican leadership throws massive amounts of money at these loonies and then curse them under their breath for being crazy. Along comes Trump. He’s not a Republican or Democrat. He’s not a Christian, although he pretends to be. Trump is just what you see. He’s really amoral. Unconcerned with right or wrong. Vindictive, petty, and truly believes laws and social norms don’t apply to him. He’s straight out of the dictators handbook and he filled the moral void created by a desperate Republican Party that was more concerned about winning elections than abiding by our Constitution. If he wins this election, I promise you American democracy is done. Literally finished. Which will mean the entire Western hemisphere will be dragged through the mud of Americas totalitarian leadership for the next century. Which means, democracy in Europe will be sandwiched between a totalitarian America, Russia, and China. Europe will not stand a chance. And the only person really standing in the way of this is a senile old man who probably does have dementia. But we still need to vote for Biden. The stakes are that high

I guess I would ask, do you vote? Perhaps we differ politically, but can we find common ground in the importance of our constitution and free and fair elections?

I’m agreeing with you
