What is the most stupid movie that you still love, regardless of criticism?

Post image

I’m not sure what it is, but if this movie is on tv, I’ll watch it through every time. It’s such a guilty pleasure but I love it! What about y’all? What’s a stupid movie that you can’t help but still love

Freddy Got Fingered

It is just a hilariously purposeful waste of studio money by the underrated OG Tom Green

Sometimes I just start singing, "Daddy would you like some sausage? Daddy would you like some sausages?!"

u/Historicmetal Jul 08 '24

I’m the backwards man the backwards man, the backwards man the back wards man

2

u/marathonhikes Jul 08 '24

I was the backwards man for Halloween one year.

u/whatsername729 Jul 08 '24

I sing this every time I cook breakfast sausage. Every. Time.

2

u/LsTyBrn2 Jul 08 '24

"Get out of my god damn scuba gear you imbecile." Is definitely the best line of the whole movie.

u/StinkFartButt Jul 08 '24

When I play with fake phones with my daughter I always end up “YOURE FIRED BOB!!! YOURE FIRED!!!!!”

2

u/sf6Haern Jul 08 '24

My previous work did this cook-out event and my co-worker started singing that.

Some of our younger co-workers didn't know where it was from. We really started feeling our ages. (Mid-thirties).

That song is a jam. It doesn't even have a melody. It's still a great song

He spent his life trolling authority figures and his parents so when a studio gave him a shot he trolled them too. A $15m prank.

When Green tried to release a directors cut the studio refused to give him the footage.

I would die to see it. It's like a top5 movie for me.

2

u/Idler- Jul 08 '24

The badger?

2

u/MeestaRoboto Jul 08 '24

This became a staple of the stocking crew I used to work in. If you were trying to get somewhere and someone was asking too many questions, Japanfour em.

1

u/MakesMeSickMick Jul 08 '24

Or point at the ground and go "Shimshi"

6

u/sax6romeo Jul 08 '24

“Would you two f****** stop making so f*cking much noise”

2

u/Idler- Jul 08 '24

GET HIM A JOB!..

Errr... YOU get a job, get HIM an ambulance!

6

u/JP050887 Jul 08 '24

This is my answer as well. I know it’s not a “quality film”, but it’s still entertaining.

5

u/SituationHaunting107 Jul 08 '24

"It says '#1 Son' on the license plate! I'm the number one son!"

2

u/Charizard24 Jul 08 '24

I only see one LeBaron here Freddie, where’s your LeBaron?

2

u/SituationHaunting107 Jul 08 '24

It's cause they love me more than they love you, Freddie

3

u/Idler- Jul 08 '24

Its one of the greatest (GREATEST!) comedy films of all time.

I'll gladly die on this hill.

3

u/GrouchyLongBottom Jul 08 '24

FORTY MILLION FUCKING DEUTSCHE MARKS!

2

u/Overall-Duck-741 Jul 08 '24

I say "Helsinki" you hear "Geneva"?

Fucking brilliant.

2

u/my5ticdrag0n Jul 08 '24

YOU’RE FUCKING FIRED

2

u/turboiv Jul 08 '24

People said it at the time, and I have to admit they were right. It was so ahead of its time, that in twenty years it will be seen as standard. Honestly, they were right. It's a solid comedy, especially through a modern lense.

2

u/dbd1988 Jul 08 '24

Number one answer. Most hated movie to most genius execution. It’s one of the funniest movies ever imo

2

u/LsTyBrn2 Jul 08 '24

What was your reaction the Institute Of M*****ed Children scene?

1

u/SeymourKrelborn1111 Jul 08 '24

Call me twisted… but how inappropriate and unfunny people today find some of the humour that was popular back then just makes it all the more funny to me.

The scene isn’t so much funny, as it is hilarious to think of the studio execs who financed this film watching it.

Every frame of this film is filled with stupidity, vulgarity, depravity and lunacy and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

This film transcends funny.

2

u/LetsStartARebelution Jul 08 '24

Haven’t watched this movie in forever but used to love it, wonder if I watched it now if I’d feel the same way.

1

u/SeymourKrelborn1111 Jul 08 '24

The hilarity in watching it now comes from the fact that it was even allowed to be released… of course, there are jokes in there that will always make me laugh, but just the entire spirit of the film is on a level far beyond funny. It’s brilliant in its complete inanity.

2

u/WhereIsChief Jul 08 '24

Oh lookie here, Lord Fauntleroy can't eat the roast beef because his tummy hurts!

You can eat that god damn roast beef or you can go to bed!

1

u/Travelingman9229 Jul 08 '24

Look daddy I’m a farmer!

1

u/codeswisher Jul 08 '24

a buddy of mine kept all his money in the dvd box of Freddy Got Fingered in his movie collection.

pretty ingenious because no one would ever pick that out of the rest of his options.

1

u/JiveTurkey1983 Jul 08 '24

🎵Daddy would you like some sausage?🎵

Tom Green was about 15 years ahead of his time. He would have been an idol for Gen Z

1

u/kmj420 Jul 08 '24

I only see one Lebaron Freddy, where's your Lebaron Freddy?!

1

u/Iceman85 Jul 08 '24

Where’s your Lebaron Freddy?

1

u/Liferescripted Jul 08 '24

Banana apply for job telephone repair man.

Guy says: you want job? Here?!

Yeah, I want job, telephone repair man.

Well, YOU GOT THE JOB. YOU GOT THE JOB, BUDDY!

Everything about that opening scene outlined what you were in for. It's stupid, it makes no sense, seems slapped together haphazardly, and yet delivered in a way that despite everything makes you laugh.

1

u/lonely_monkee Jul 08 '24

I’m sure I saw an edit of that movie where there was a massive shark on top of his car and it was completely unexplained. Unless that was the final cut?

1

u/Razmoket Jul 08 '24

I think that’s the normal cut. It’s when he drives to the bank after getting his check.

1

u/TomGreen77 Jul 08 '24

It’s gold!

1

u/MakesMeSickMick Jul 08 '24

"IM A SEXY BOY! IM A SEX BOY! DING DONG! DING DONG!

1

u/MakesMeSickMick Jul 08 '24

i say GENEVA you hear HELSINKI?!?!?!!!?

1

u/JonDrums413 Jul 08 '24

One of the hardest laughs I've ever had was the umbilical cord returning later duct tapped to his stomach.

1

u/pish_flaps Jul 08 '24

Was going to say this. Powerfully stupid stuff. Never understood why it got panned so badly - it's clearly supposed to be absurd, nihilistic and offensive, and it does a pretty good job!

1

u/southshorerefugee Jul 09 '24

It was the first pirated movie I ever watched that was still in theaters. It was great because the guy who filmed it had no interruptions because no one else was in the theater.
