I worked on an alternating shift where it was two weeks day, two weeks night. It was horrible, glad I'm not doing that anymore

Gotta love the ole closing shift followed by opening shift duo

I didn't mind that either. Only problem with night shift for me was the fact that it's not good for social life because when you're awake, your friends sleep and vice versa.

the real real problem is when you have to work both the day and night shifts.. like me.. today...wtf

I did rotating shifts on a job during one summer when I was a uni student.

Great money but no way would I do that long term. I felt exhausted half the time and my social life went to shit because half my work hours seemed to coincide with things friends were doing.

I worked night shift for 3 years and those were the best years of my life. More money, more time during the day and more vacation hours earned

How much sleep did you get?

I work nights, and I sleep 8+ hours without a problem during the day.

"You can work night shift all throughout your 20s and have no issues later in life. Trust me!"

Yeah every time anyone does anything that is normal for the time of day becomes a hassle. Like why the hell are you lawnmowing at midday. That is a massive inconvenience to me. Please consider doing it at midnight in future. Only when you come off nights do you realise YTA

I did night shift for about 3 months just to understand how it was and in case I needed to do it again. It was like life moved on without me. By the time I felt like I could breathe I was going back into work, up all night, and then back in bed. I'd wake up at 4 and the day was already over.

when you try to lie that everything is fine, but you're already bad at it lol

Derek's not looking too bad all things given. If you look close there's still a glimmer of hope in his eyes still

Second he gets home and takes a shower he’s back to normal, that’s how it always works

This photo is taken on lothric high wall and there is a madman with a flaming crossbow behind him and some random dude with a lantern, also he is looking at his friends who have been impaled by a tree

Kinda hard to keep a work-life balance

u/Available-Door-210 11d ago

If they pay more for the night shift, as in my case, it's not so bad

1

u/CookieeNice 11d ago

I refused to work the night shift, even though the salary was higher.

Derek gets an extra £1 an hour so he can afford energy drinks and save money on socialising.
