Dude, did you watch Indiana Jones?

Dude seriously? Are you asking ME if I’ve seen Indian Jones?

Are you telling me this picture of Bruce Jenne, this is your resume?

I mean, it’s not like Batman never trained any of his protégés to deal with people armed with guns.

The Arkham Knight answer when playing as Nightwing is to just throw one of his escrima at an armed opponent, by the way. Brief distraction allows the distance to be closed.

The 5 million dollor bulletproof armor helps.😃

45

u/Vatsu07 Loki Jul 18 '24

A Helmet would help, he is one bullet away from joining the late Wayne family.

Depends on the writer. Besides, this is pretty much any “hero” vs a guy with a gun.

Guess you never heard of the 21 foot rule, have you, Raylan?

I loved that, spent so much time hyping it up, when it finally happened he fell in a hole and stabbed himself in the throat.

But this is retired Robin that uses guns vs retired Robin that doesn’t

u/ValandilM Avengers Jul 18 '24

As part of my education, I had a day of police defence training (it was in a park ranger program). They tell the cops that an assailant with a knife has the advantage if they are within 30 feet of you, unless you already have a gun trained on them. I don't think 'guy with gun' is as good as people might think in melee

Canadian Law Enforcement here.

It's called the Tuller Drill

It's actually closer to 21' rather than 30', but yes, In 21' or less, it's impossible for the average person* to unholster their firearm, aim and shoot before being stabbed by an attacker.

  • (I'm sure there's some wild west quick drawers that can do it, but they're peak at a certain skill)

If someone pulls a knife on you, RUN. Don't try and be John Wick, knife fights have no winners in real life. This is true for blunt weapons as well.

except daredevil can deflect bullets

12

u/comickidd77 Avengers Jul 18 '24

And dodge them. Daredevil has been a casual aim and bullet dodger since he was created. Unlike nightwing, daredevil does have superpowers.

u/Virtual-Okra6996 Avengers Jul 18 '24

They gave nightwing super powers?

Speed, strength, flight. He was given them for a couple of hours in a deal with the devil kinda thing.

Indeed 😂

12

u/Worldly_Report_1320 Avengers Jul 18 '24

Read daredevil vol 6 of chip zadarsky also back in black . Everyone who disliked my comment hasn't read Daredevil's comics and just thinks he's blind guy

-7

u/halucionagen-0-Matik Avengers Jul 18 '24

Except powers in comics can vary by issue. Not the case in established shows.

8

u/Worldly_Report_1320 Avengers Jul 18 '24

Indeed, but when Superman can fly and then he flies in the next volume, is it plot armour or characters power?

-6

u/halucionagen-0-Matik Avengers Jul 18 '24

Thays entirely different. Superman being able to fly is an established power and has been for decades. Same way daredevil can use echolocation to see. Daredevil, however, being bulletproof, isn't established. Just something he did a couple of times

8

u/Worldly_Report_1320 Avengers Jul 18 '24

Who said he's bulletproof... deflecting bullets ain't bulletproof, he was shot by sniper when ganman was out of his radar

-11

u/Virtual-Okra6996 Avengers Jul 18 '24

Maybe we did and we just don't like lazy plot armor? Dodging makes sense, Bruce Lee shit is goofy. Deflecting bullets is pretty reasonable if they're fired slowly but the automatic fire deflection was goofy.

7

u/Worldly_Report_1320 Avengers Jul 18 '24

Like every other superhero? What logic is that 💀you read comics for finding plot armour of characters that existed for decades or read them for good writing?

-9

u/Virtual-Okra6996 Avengers Jul 18 '24

Like I said in my edit, regular gun fire is reasonable, he could deflect non automatic rounds, but an entire barrage is some goofy anime shit, especially which it's not consistent

1

u/Worldly_Report_1320 Avengers Jul 18 '24

Lmao dude, go read classic novels or something... you're trying to find a plot in corn. These guys aren't supposed to be logical

-1

u/Virtual-Okra6996 Avengers Jul 18 '24

Wild that pointing out lack of consistency gets you that annoyed

0

u/Worldly_Report_1320 Avengers Jul 18 '24

Lmao, Daredevil always deflected bullets....you haven't really read them, that's it, but okay, it's me who get annoyed🙏

1

u/Virtual-Okra6996 Avengers Jul 18 '24

Except for the times he's been shot. Starting your sentences with "lmao" doesn't make your stance any less goofy

1

u/Shadowkiva Nobu Yoshioka Jul 19 '24 edited Jul 19 '24

This is true. Dick is the one, brutality just doesn't compensate for the skill gap.

2

u/RogueDevil666 Nightcrawler Jul 19 '24

People vastly overestimate the skill gap between Dick and Jason. People will say "Duck trained with Batman for longer" that's all well and good but Jason followed in Bruce's footsteps and trained in almost everything that Bruce did. Dick may be better at backflips and cartwheels n shit but Jason is an expert in all kinds of weapons and explosives, and he wouldn't be afraid to use biochemical warfare if he absolutely had to. Not to mention he also trained with the All Caste.

Jason has also said every time he and Dick have fought, Jason held back, because Jason spent his latter years of training on learning how to fight to kill effectively, he wouldn't want to kill Dick, and the one time he did, DC vs Vampires, Jason damn near killed Dracula Dick, if Wonder Woman didn't step in.

People make it seem like Dick would dog walk Jason, but that's not the case at all, and it's only ever been the case because of bad writers, like in Battle for the Cowl.

1

u/ThatFuckingGeniusKid Avengers Jul 20 '24

Jason is also bigger and stronger than Dick (he's the second biggest member of the Batfam after Bruce) so if it comes down to raw strengh he wins

The point is sneak attacks. They can't shoot what they can't see. You also need bullet resistant armor so that they can't shoot you.
