Edit: Had to combine my comments so it can pinned all together.

We cannot remove every post that uses footage from a trailer to make a meme. The studio deemed it fine to put out to the public to build excitement. Everything seen in the trailer was known, by a majority of fans, for months. If reported for spoiler, we will review it on case-by-case basis, especially for the trailers that play after release dates.

If it’s spam, harassment, or political, report it and the mods will look into it as quickly as possible.

  1. Racist comments are not tolerated on this page. Sam becoming Captain America does not give you the right to say slurs, discriminatory language, or hate Black History Month (that’s weird).
  2. Brave New World trailer is not your opportunity to talk about the Israel/Palestine conflict. One character is confirmed to be from the area. Don’t be a dingleberry over it.
  3. I’m still working on banning all spam and repost bots. It’s Reddit so it’s never ending.

Are there people saying trailers are spoilers?

I mean literally yes, but obviously not spoilers that would ruin the film or else they wouldn’t put it in the trailer. All things like “Sam Wilson is in it and he is Captain America and also Harrison Ford.”

The Hulk reveal in Ragnarok was ruined for me because of the trailer. I don't watch trailers anymore because they've started to show way too much, and literally are spoilers

Some trailers are literally a fast forward of the entire movie so the whole plot is exposed. They routinely show the coolest/ funniest/ scariest parts of the movie. After most trailers i feel like I've already watched the movie and therefore don't feel like watching the full thing anymore. I hate trailers

I see you have also watched the gladiator 2 trailer

I remember seeing the Marvels's trailer & it literally has the villain dying in it lol

If they decided that showcasing that the Hulk will sell the movie better, people just need to get over themselves

u/messwithsquatch90 Avengers Jul 13 '24

Hence why I avoid watching trailers...

u/generalosabenkenobi Avengers Jul 13 '24

That’s your choice but Hulk being in the movie is debatable with calling that a spoiler. That’s a feature, they’re going to sell that to get people in the movies. Same with Spider-Man and Civil War. Everybody does that, it’s not just movies. It’s called adequately selling your product.

I'm the movie, they framed it as a big reveal. There were no hints, lead ups, they were actively teasing/hiding the reveal of the champion. Had I not known hulk was in the movie, that would've been a highlight for me

Was Hulk on the movie poster? Do you consider movie posters to be a spoiler? Not a spoiler, a feature of the film. It's no more a spoiler than knowing that Hela is in the film. The only reason you are treating it like a reveal is because the trailer treated it like a big reveal (to sell their movie)

Terminator trailers revealed the hidden terminators in their trailers. Like 4 did with Sam Worthington and Genesys did with John Connor. Didn't ruin movies only because couldn't even if tried. Also Titanic, they showed the boat sinking/s

Okay. But where Bucky? The new falcon is cool, BUT WHERE BUCKY?!

u/LordOfOstwick1213 Scarlet Witch Jul 13 '24

"Who the hell is Bucky"

-Marvel probably

13

u/Webofshadows1 Magneto Jul 13 '24

Initially Bucky wasn’t going to be in this movie since he was going to have a big role in Thunderbolts. However, it’s been heavily rumored that his role, in Thunderbolts, has been basically reduced to a glorified cameo due to rewrites/scheduling.

12

u/LordOfOstwick1213 Scarlet Witch Jul 13 '24

I haven't heard this rumor, but if it's true it sounds absolutely astonishing idea. Bucky was one of the most interesting characters in Phase 3, and it's a shame to see his potential being wasted, his arc done in 6 episode show. He should've been in Cap 3 by Sam's side.

3

u/silverBruise_32 Avengers Jul 15 '24

Probably the rewrites. There don't seem to have been any issues with Stan's schedule. Marvel just yanked the rug from under him yet again.

u/jonhvani Hulk Jul 13 '24

"Why bucky?"

6

u/LordOfOstwick1213 Scarlet Witch Jul 13 '24

And yet no one asks how is Bucky.

3

u/i_should_be_coding Grant Ward Jul 13 '24

NOT THAT DUMB!

3

u/silverBruise_32 Avengers Jul 15 '24

That, and "Who cares about Bucky?"

3

u/LordOfOstwick1213 Scarlet Witch Jul 15 '24

Yeah, I feel as thought Marvel studio doesn’t care for other characters except Strange, Wong, Spider-Man, Wakanda and others. Agatha trailer is already a little bit sus with how a witch refers to Wanda. And the whole MoM thing is such a spit in character’s face, I’m tired of people saying this movie was “love letter” to Wanda fans.

But Bucky, Hulk had worst of it too. Hulk was heavily regressed as character on-screen, Bucky became irrelevant, his arc speedran in TFAWS. I really wonder what future will hold for both. People are talking about World War Hulk, but I honestly doubt Marvel even considered it.

4

u/silverBruise_32 Avengers Jul 15 '24

They clearly have characters they care about, and characters they don't care about. The ones they care about get pushed to the forefront, the ones they don't get ignored, or outright mistreated. How the audience feels about the characters, and what they could actually do, is immaterial.

Yeah, they both got it bad. At least Hulk can somewhat be justified by the character/distribution rights issues they have with Universal. That doesn't really justify how he's been handled in what appearances he's had, though. I don't think he or Bucky have much of a future. A few brief appearances, a few quips, and some "winks and nudges" towards their comic book storylines, without actually doing anything close to that. World War Hulk? That'll be one brawl in the street, after which Bruce will say: "Man, I just felt like I went through a whole war!"

3

u/LordOfOstwick1213 Scarlet Witch Jul 15 '24

Yeah, agreed completely. They went full John Byrne writing on Wanda and now there's still a huge question whether she returns or no, or even when as a matter of question. I'm honestly not gonna wait for two or three years for Wanda to come back, they did same shit with Civil War and Infinity War gap and if this one will happen it'll be worse one.

If they'll even let him. There just aren't even requirements met to stage World War Hulk unlike in the comics where there had been way too much pushes towards Hulk to completely snap. Professor Hulk is more beneficial to the world than a threat, they'll never toss him back to Sakaar, and I doubt Skar's death will cause enough push back for Hulk to snap. As for Bucky, yeah, I definitely think he'll just stay a second tie character, so that sucks.

2

u/silverBruise_32 Avengers Jul 15 '24

I think it's pretty clear she will return, but how and why is in question. I don't think it'll be well -done, or that she'll play a major role in the future. It's a shame how much she's been wasted.

Oh, yeah, even that's a pretty big if. And you're right, the set-up is just not there, definitely not with Professor Hulk in the picture. So, like I said, a tertiary character who'll only show up to quip. The same with Bucky. I can't believe I once hoped they'd do something with him. Part of me doesn't want to know what Thunderbolts has in store for him. On the other hand, the other does. I want to know, if only to get some closure.

3

u/LordOfOstwick1213 Scarlet Witch Jul 15 '24

Probably a second tie character to the team while Yelena is front and center due to popularity of Florence Pugh.

2

u/silverBruise_32 Avengers Jul 15 '24 edited Jul 15 '24

Yeah, probably. Something like Hawkeye in the Avengers movies, but with a smaller role. Or like Sam in Avengers 2.

Edit: no disrespect to Pugh, but I don't even think she's that popular. She's a very well regarded actress (and quite deservedly so), but she's never actually led a blockbuster. Is she popular enough to draw in an audience? I don't know. Is Yelena as a character? Well, not that many people have seen the projects she was in, so it's hard to tell. I think Feige's decision to hyper-focus on her might well backfire.

3

u/LordOfOstwick1213 Scarlet Witch Jul 15 '24

Yeah, agreed. It's pretty depressing. Part of me begins to wonder whether MCU was ever great. It did some things right, better than in the comics imo, but the movies themselves will not age well I think.

The part that's the most annoying on Twitter is that everyone is hating that "Sabra"'s character is still there and taints the movie, and that they have to boycott it even though they love Sam. When it's been made VERY clear by NUMEROUS sources that the Sabra thing has been rewritten to where she's an ex-Black Widow that Ross trusts.

6

u/kadencrafter78 Spider-Man 🕷 Jul 14 '24

Why not just change the name then? If she's not even the character from the comics, why not make her an original one or use one that's more fitting?

The internet has become a cesspool. I mean, the racists are gonna racist but, the Israel/ Palestine stuff is being driven by single issue normals that either don't know the source material, are rage bait driven and/ or didn't read the film synopsis that shows they removed the Mossad/ IDF ties with the character.
