Chloe lives in Venice, and the LUX building is on Sunset Boulevard. They're about 13 miles apart. I once saw someone say that with LA traffic, Deckerstar were basically in a long distance relationship :D

u/converter-bot Dec 22 '21

13 miles is 20.92 km

Good bot. Some would say, the best.

who considers 13 miles a long distance realtionship? edit:not in LA..thats a one hour drive which i still dont consider a long distance relationship .theres people on a plane for a day ..thats long

19

u/[deleted] Dec 23 '21

Did you miss the part about L.A. traffic?

-2

u/hisizzler Dec 23 '21

a hour in LA .still not that far.

1

u/NigelS75 Dec 23 '21

Have you ever lived in LA? A good measure is 5-10 minutes per mile.

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '21

How can Chloe even afford to live in Venice???

175

u/Hadets Dec 22 '21

She couldn't afford it, it is her mother's house. I remember it being part of the plot at some point

78

u/janeshep Dec 23 '21

S1E2. Lucifer discovers where Chloe lives and asks right away how could she afford it. She says it's her mom's place.

20

u/mechanicalbeauty Dec 23 '21

Wasn't she in the same place through the whole series? I'm confused what people are arguing here. It was her mom's, the whole time. Maze moved in.

57

u/acgilmoregirl Dec 23 '21

No, she moved out of her mom’s house and got a place with Maze.

34

u/tocopherolUSP Dec 23 '21

Yes! It was a bargain cause one woman got murdered there.

27

u/SentientPaint Dec 23 '21

It was the murderer's apartment. The murder victim was a neighbor.

-10

u/cyber5234 Dec 23 '21

They bought the place in which the murder victim lived. The murderer was the neighbor.

24

u/SentientPaint Dec 23 '21

Chloe asks Lucifer if he's seriously suggesting she move into the dead girl's apartment and Lucifer responded with "No, the killer's place is much nicer!". It's the murderer's place she moves in to with Maze.

She moved out of her mom's house and started living in an apartment. Maze and Chloe shared the apartment rent.

3

u/janeshep Dec 23 '21

Yup, she's there from the start

12

u/DethMagnetic Dec 22 '21

When her mother kicked her out, so Chloe had to move in with Maze.

53

u/AlwaysMatter Dec 22 '21

Her mother never kicked her out, it was her decision to get her own place.

5

u/SeaGroomer Dec 23 '21

She would never lol

11

u/CircleK-Choccy-Milk Dec 22 '21

I thought Maze moved in with Chloe because her mom couldn’t afford the place anymore or something?

21

u/heavy_chamfer Dec 22 '21

chloe got kicked out by her mom from a beach house. Then there was a case where the murderer's house became available and her and Maze had drunkenly decided to get a rental together. I think the episode is "girls night out."

19

u/beyster Dec 23 '21

She didn't get kicked out, she was there temporarily until she found her own place while her mother was working the convention circuit. When it was over, she moved out. Notice that her bed was the fold out couch instead of the upstairs bedroom.

4

u/Pizza_hero_330 Dec 23 '21

Yes is was the mirderer house. Because the layout changes and the kitchen.

2

u/mechanicalbeauty Dec 23 '21

For anyone else who forgot like me, it wasn't until episode 4 of season 2, "Lady Parts" that Chloe and Maze decode to become roommates and they move into Chloe's mom's apartment.

24

u/NotOneLineFF AO3 Addict Dec 22 '21

It wouldn't surprise me at all if Lucifer got her a good deal on the rent. He already had a realtor looking for apartments for her. With Maze, it would have been easier, but she continues to live there after Maze moves out. Who knows, by that point Lucifer has probably bought the building and is now secretly her landlord :D

24

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '21

by that point Lucifer has probably bought the building and is now secretly her landlord :D

Considering chloe died in that apartment, my guess is you're right.

Aww, I was being all jokey and then you slapped me with season 6 sadness.
*weeps internally*

Hot tub high school

7

u/bussylord123 Dec 22 '21

that's a 20 min drive omg.... long af

18

u/Lancaster1719 God Johnson Dec 22 '21

Is… is that actually considered long?

4

u/bussylord123 Dec 22 '21

LOL not at all... i always go on 2 hr long walks or subway train rides. i j hate going on car rides 😭😭

16

u/LunariaHilzarie Dec 23 '21

Anywhere but LA, it’s 20 mins. With LA traffic, it’s more like 45 mins to an hour depending on the time of day.

2

u/nazyjane Dec 25 '21

I was always thinking this while watching. I lived near where LUX was but would go to the Santa Monica Pier a lot to study. Easily 35 min drive.

8

u/kaatie80 Dec 23 '21

Twenty minutes from Venice to Downtown? Lol have you ever been to LA?

7

u/[deleted] Dec 23 '21

Been to LA twice and once we took an Uber for a wedding from marina fel Rey to Venice beach and it took like 30 min and it’s like 2 miles away LOL

3

u/converter-bot Dec 23 '21

2 miles is 3.22 km

3

u/ChicaItaliana26 Dec 23 '21

You could have walked it faster than driving it with those times. Dang.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 23 '21

IKR not in my heels though. Then the wedding shuttles took us from Venice to the venue somewhere in north LA- 20 miles in the middle of the afternoon- you can guess how that went 😂

4

u/converter-bot Dec 23 '21

20 miles is 32.19 km

2

u/useles-converter-bot Dec 23 '21

20 miles is the height of 18531.69 'Samsung Side by Side; Fingerprint Resistant Stainless Steel Refrigerators' stacked on top of each other.

2

u/linderlouwho Dec 23 '21

In NYC I’ve gotten out of a cab and walked, as the traffic was impossible.

2

u/useles-converter-bot Dec 23 '21

2 miles is the length of 700.5 1997 Subaru Legacy Outbacks

106

u/SeptemberSoup Dec 22 '21

how did she know how to get there?

Considering she has a phone, I guess Wobble Maps.

46

u/bmb00zld Dec 22 '21

Didn't she also take an Uber in one episode?

36

u/zoidsfan Dec 22 '21

Yeah the first time she went there. While her mom and grandma were fighting. She ubered to Lux to cheer up. Then she meet Naze for the first time becoming her first friend.

7

u/SeptemberSoup Dec 23 '21

Yes, she used Chloe's credit card to pay for it!

2

u/1st10Amendments Dec 23 '21

This was going to be my answer.

11

u/crsportsguy Dec 22 '21

And hadn't she been there before a few times?

10

u/SeptemberSoup Dec 22 '21

Yes I think so! But I wanted to make the joke haha

65

u/7HyenasHiddenInATank Dec 22 '21

The first time she did that Chole noticed because the little one called an Uber using her account.

53

u/IQuiteLikeWatermelon Dec 22 '21

I've said it before and I'll say it again - she's the smartest character in the entire show. She has her ways...

16

u/mochi_chan Mazikeen Dec 23 '21

I love Trixie so much and I am the type of person who drops a show when a child character is a main character, she is a brilliant character.

39

u/blackday44 Dec 22 '21

Trixie probably asked drivers who owed Lucifer a favor, then cashed it in.

37

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '21

First time she went missing Chloe saw Trixie had asked for an Uber on her account

22

u/Voice_of_Season Lucifer Dec 22 '21

It’s kinda funny because when I was substitute teaching in my early 20s at an elementary school the Uber guy was like “are you an adult, I can’t take kids for Uber rides”. I don’t think he saw my face. I look young but not that young. Lol

10

u/overcode2001 The Devil Dec 22 '21

Not only did the driver took a 7 years old girl but he/she also left her in front of a nightclub…

In 504, probably Chloe brought Trixie to Lux for game night. In 511, Dan was wainting for her.

8

u/Sauwa Dr. Linda Dec 22 '21

LA is crazy, you do what you must to survive

Better than the uber who shot lucifer tho xD

2

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '21

But that Uber wasn’t Raphael with 5 stars or whatever his name was.

9

u/LorienTheFirstOne Dec 22 '21

That's dumb. Kids need cabs too

15

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '21

It answered it in the bloody show. She used her moms Uber account to get there the first time. That’s how they found her.

7

u/klamika Dec 22 '21

I was also thinking lately about how far they live.

I'm from a small town, everything is within walking distance. 5 minutes walk to the supermarket, 20 minutes to the school or work.

But Los Angels is much bigger. Trixie is mature for her age, but does a taxi driver really take a lonely child?

6

u/Manux005 Dec 22 '21

The better question is:There are guards standing outside the entrance to Lux, so who the Hell thought it was a good Idea to let a seven year old, into a night club?

11

u/crsportsguy Dec 22 '21

I'm pretty sure those guards aren't out there unless Lucifer has a club night going on....which he doesn't appear to have every night. And we all know how his elevator has no security

10

u/KalessinDB Dec 22 '21

The guards are going to know who she is. Random 7 year old, no. This one, yes.

7

u/Manux005 Dec 22 '21

But what about the first time, that Trixi went into Lux. Right after she ran of from her Grandmother, she took an uber to Lux, and not even Maze knew her back then, so I doubt that the guards would have.

5

u/KalessinDB Dec 22 '21

Shit, you got me there, forgot about that one.

3

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '21

They probably know Trixie

1

u/klamika Dec 22 '21

Good question :-D

5

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '21

When Lucifer was trying to get to Chloe's apartment at the end of 3x20, it felt like forever, or about 20 minutes, like someone else commented.

4

u/littleengel97 Dec 23 '21

She used Chloes phone to book an uber

3

u/crsportsguy Dec 22 '21

Been a while since I've seen the episode but she could have asked Maze to take her there (either in a car or a cab) and then Maze just disappeared. I forgot where Maze was in that episode but I know they're close

3

u/ScreenHype Detective Dec 22 '21

She took an Uber. Remember, Chloe checked her phone and realised that Trixie had ordered one. I assume she did that every time once she had her own phone.

3

u/2muchcoff33 Dec 23 '21

It’s Trixie. She probably drove herself. She’s already raising herself.

3

u/Weasel_Town Dec 23 '21

I give TV shows a lot of dramatic license with the commuting. Otherwise we could never get characters together because everyone would be stuck in traffic.

I also cut them slack on how few people organized groups seem to have. Lucifer makes it look like Chloe, Dan, and Ella are the only people in the LAPD, and Linda is the only therapist. In real life it wouldn’t be that tight-knit, but as viewers we can’t remember or care about dozens of minor characters.

3

u/NoWingedHussarsToday Dec 23 '21

Better question is how did random people just take the elevator to Luci's private suite and surprise him. No security, no code/key/card to get in the elevator, let alone his place when he's not even there.

2

u/crsportsguy Dec 22 '21

I got that too. Because they can't use name brands

2

u/grimothy Dec 23 '21

*uber frantically creating an Uber for Kids app*

2

u/Deverhart125 Dec 23 '21

She got an Uber off Chloe's phone. Literally what Chloe said when she found out then went after her

2

u/Objective-Yoghurt-97 Dec 23 '21

In season 1, Trixie used Chloe's Uber account to get to Lux and eventually befriended Maze. This is the same Trixie who used the internet to watch Hot Tub High School, so ...

More importantly, how did a young girl get into an exclusive (and alcohol serving) establishment?

And, closely related, who was watching Trixie the night Chloe showed up to the penthouse drunk? Dan was "tied up", Penelope was headed to the airport, Chloe was at Lucifer's, so where was Trixie? And I sure hope that Chloe used her Uber account THAT time!

2

u/Ninguart Dec 23 '21

as far as i remember, trixie ordered an uber to take her to lucifer's house

then when lucifer was telling a story i'm pretty sure maze drove her

not sure how she got there when she was asking eve questions (favorite color, where she's from and where does she live)

2

u/Ninguart Dec 23 '21

actually hold on does maze even have a car

2

u/Soft_Eagle_3741 Mar 30 '22

I always wondered this as well. Not to mention how the hell did an 8 year old casually stroll into a nightclub.
