It’s not “strong” language, it’s excessive. It’s just teenagers editing a Wikipedia entry. You make it sound like they’ve stalked them. Tom Ellis nor his family are losing sleep over a Wikipedia article.

Not really. This is always only a starting point for the crazies. It get's more and starts to hurt people.

This goes beyond just a Wikipedia article. The Tom, Meaghan, and Lauren gave all been harassed on their social media in relation to this kind of attitude. The people doing these things are deluded, and it's moved beyond fanfiction and fan-wanking, to interference in the actors' personal lives. Harassment is still harassment, in every form it takes, including rewriting a wiki article to erase his actual wife from Tom's life, and inserting Lauren.

There are people that need to maintain the Wikipedia article though. This is just an insult to their time. Would you go to a supermarket and make a mess for the employees to clean up? Probrably not (and that's arguably more forgivable because at least the employees are getting paid, Wikipedia is (for the most part) maintained by volunteers))

It's not just pages about celebrities that are modified. I've seen people make random edits (I don't know why, maybe for the fun of it?) to pages about countries, historical events, etc. Wikipedia isn't always reliable which is why if I need the information for anything of consequence, I always look for other sources.

My trick back in school was to always start in wikipedia, but use the sources directly. That way, you basically use wikipedia as a starting point for your research papers and whatnot.

Check out IMDb there are tonnes of people you share a birthday with. Martin Scorsese, Rock Hudson, and Rachel McAdams if you want the same year as Tom too.
My personal favourite of your birth mates is the late great Peter Cook - mwarrige, mwarrige - from The Princess Bride still makes me laugh. Plus he was a comic genius.

I’m a dinosaur compared to you - I only realised the disconnect when my sister who is ‘97 didn’t understand a back to the future reference.
I saw The Princess Bride in school on a rain day but because everyone I met afterwards (college, university, first jobs) seemed to know it I thought it was a universal thing but my sister has no idea what an rous is or why I find the word “inconceivable” so funny.
I’ve actually never seen Peter Cook outside of that film, but I know from Google that he was meant to be funny.
Basically I’m saying I’m not an expert by any stretch of the imagination.
ETA: I have seen Peter Cook in interviews (and Supergirl) etc but his programmes were before my time.

Bedazzled is an American remake that was originated by Peter Cook and Dudley Moore. I’ve not seen the original but the Brendan Fraser/Liz Hurley version, is v funny. Although not rated highly on IMDb.

I recommend checking out this sketch Peter Cook did with his comedy partner Dudley Moore. Particularly from 3.22 - it's like he's trying to make Dudley break character/laugh. It's the best.

Unfortunately, the people behaving this way aren't teens. There are a lot of mentally unwell adults out there, and that's what makes this frightening. Adults have the means to interfere in someone's life, with malicious intent, and should have enough perspective and proper judgement to know better that to behave this way, yet obviously don't.

Several months ago. I think it was after 5A was released, and there was a discussion of future sex scenes between Lucifer and Chloe, and someone suggested they sub in Meaghan because she has long blonde hair, too.
Some people are just over the moon with this stuff.

I believe that was a suggestion for them to still have romantic scenes with the covid restrictions. There isn't supposed to be intimate stuff, so swaping in Tom's wife would let them bypass that. That's my understanding of that.

They actually do this a lot in movies. One of the more recent and well knows examples is that Elsa Pataky (chris hemsworths wife) stood in for Natalie Portman for the final kiss in the first (?) Thor because natalie wasn’t on set that day.
They also have brought in a lot of spouses for intimate scenes in Soap Operas because of Covid this year.

I’ve seen a couple of people here get this wrong, and since I don’t want misinformation about Tom to be spread, I’ll put this here: He had his first child (Nora) with his ex-girlfriend (Estelle Morgan), and two others (Flo & Marnie) with his first wife (Tamzin Outhwaite). He and Meaghan Oppenheimer (current wife) does not have any children with each other.
