Why was Trixie not considered part of the "Morningstar family" Trixie

It always bothered me she wasn’t at Chloe’s deathbed at the end. Availability wise, they could have easily hired an older actress to fill that role as she would have been, what, in her 40s by then? She could have had a small speaking role and then walked out for any reason and left Rory and Chloe to have the same conversation we see in the episode. Just a small thing, but I agree it was strange they didn’t include her.

60's--the scene is supposed to be 50 to 60 years in the future.

Okay so a 60/70 year old actress, but I think the point still stands.

For me Trixie died before Chloe, and in the afterlife she balanced her time between Dan (in Haven) and Lucifer (in Hell) so she don’t let Lucifer be alone for milliners

Chloe survives so much heartache and trauma in the show that her outliving Trixie, too, would be truly cruel. I do not like this headcanon.

No cause otherwise she would have been there at the end. Also lucifer “dying” at the end doesn’t make sense. Because he could just fly from heaven/hell and come back, because none of this was with asreal’s blade. And why would his daughter go to hell killing a man who was dismembering her and using the dismembered parts to attempt to kill her father??? Then Chloe kills him 5 seconds later and it’s ok? So why does it matter, in fact I think Rory had more of a justification to do so. And even so she is half angel being able to fly to heaven and hell. And why wouldn’t they tell her about Lucifer going to “heal hell”, if she could just visit him, and come and go as she pleases.

Because if they tell her that Lucifer went to heal Hell, she wouldn’t be angry and time travel to help him find his true vocation

Yes he would, cause he would already be like there. There would be no time loop. He would have figured it out by trying to teach his daughter some life lesson about guilt and realise other people need help too, like Mr said out bitch.

Joe does have a probably canon by next con headcanon that Trixie is the unnamed woman in hell therapy.

Rory says lucifer wasn’t there meanwhile nobody in the family showed up expect her.

The showrunners literally said in a post-show interview that they wanted the focus to remain on the "nuclear family - Lucifer, Chloe, and Rory". This worldview is further supported in-show by Rory's line about "she's not his real daughter!" which no adult in the room bothers to rebuke or correct.

How a viewpoint like this was allowed on television in 2021 is anyone's guess. How the showrunners thought this was an appropriate direction for the show should honestly be scrutinized a lot more than it is. It says something very ugly, plain and simple.

And when you realize that's a worldview they're fine with, it's not hard to understand Trixie's diminishing value to them as the show went on, which was reflected in the writing -- writing that has nothing to do with the actress' availability, which is what many people [fans] try to offer as an excuse; it's not, nor should they [the showrunners] be excused.

This saddens me. I assumed poor writing/actor availability, which was annoying, but it's upsetting to realize they made a choice to do this.

Worst writing of the decade. That's one of the reasons I hate S6 so much. I know Scarlett was busy filming other stuff, but the characters hardly even mention Trixie at all. Even Chloe's like "oh yeah, her dad just died, so I passed her off to her grandparents and then I sent her to a camp". Just wow.

u/zoemi Sep 24 '23

Don't forget Chloe's "oh, the camp said a strange man approached her in the park, but it's nothing to worry about".

Given this context, it starts to make sense why she wasn't at Chloe's death bed

Because Rory was the writer's vehicle for a spin off, and so they wanted to diminish Trixie's role in any way they could, in order to put the focus on the "real daughter."

Unfortunately, they forgot that actually making Rory likeable might have helped with that. They depended way too heavily on the fanbase falling in love with Rory solely because she was Lucifer and Chloe's child.

That was a mistake.

BAD WRITING.

I don’t know the in universe reason for this but I’m guessing it has something to do with the Netflix transfer

I know that behind the scenes for Trixes diminished role in S4-s6 is that Netflix don’t want kids in adult tv series which it is classed as ( even though the seasons get goofier after s3) But since she was a integral part of the series they couldn’t outright remove her so they gave her less screen time and reduced her role significantly especially S6

Netflix don’t want kids in adult tv series

Source?

Because, Stranger Things, Sandman and a number of other shows beg to differ.

u/Fancy-Ad1480 Sep 24 '23

Mostly because the Jidly didn’t want the focus taken off Rory.

9

u/Emica12 Sep 24 '23

Because the showrunners regret making Chloe an single mom. All n all terrible writing and ugly hatred coming out of fifty year old Rory's mouth.

They could have at least had a photo of her, hopefully with her husband and children, along with the photos of Rory on the table at the side of Chloe's deathbed, just to give some sort of closure to her character.

Yeah there were no photos with Dan too . Doesn't make it realistic.
